Great info. I just ran into these dam cir clips. Bought the HD tool to make it easy. Looks like the oil ring expander gap is in the wrong orientation, gap should pour up. According to what S&S instructions show

Great eye Robert...but that is dependant on the piston style. If the wrist pin area or oil relief holes are in the oil ring travel area, YES but older piston designs do not require this. On Harley Twin Cams with OEM pistons. I'm rebuilding my 2002 sportster 883. Are both arrows on the pistons facing front of the motorcycle? I found one video this guy is saying it should face the exhaust pipes. Is this true?

Which way is the piston rings supposed to go once they are on the piston before putting the piston back in the jug
