@jordanstephenson695325 күн бұрын
@GlacialGoldHunter yes, the little bottle you use to wash out the rest of the stuff from the bucket that you said you didn't know what it's called. Well that's what it's called, so now you know 😁. Very commonly used in chemistry labs and similar applications for flushing remaining chemicals from glassware, down a funnel, filter, etc.

If I remember correctly, there was a stamp mill or something in or by Oronoco. It was washed away by a flood. They rebuilt it, and the following year, it was washed away by another flood. They never rebuilt it.

Nice video, I would recommend to shake your pan side to side and not swirl it around when stratifying your material, this ensures the gold goes down to the bottom of the riffles and not get swirled on top where it'll wash out when you dip to remove surface material.
@GlacialGoldHunterАй бұрын
I’ll give that a try.

@GlacialGoldHunterАй бұрын

@raymondcoriz9500Ай бұрын
So I don’t think a sluice box qualifies as mechanical. It’s similar to a pan isn’t it? FGW uses a sluice box quite frequently. I believe you’d be good to go to use one. More material = More gold. Come to Colorado some time. We will get some gold. Heavy Pans.
@GlacialGoldHunterАй бұрын
I would be up for a Colorado trip sometime. I need knee surgery so it would have to be next year but that would be super fun to see some mountain gold.
@TheWasatchGearReview22 күн бұрын
Aren't you able to use a river sluice?
@GlacialGoldHunter21 күн бұрын
In Minnesota it says no sluicing but it is in the section that also lumps them into mechanical operations. So I think the people who write the laws just don’t know what they are taking about. But on KZbin I will stick to panning.

Isnt a regular sluice non mechanical just mother natures water flow? Mechanical meaning pumps and electricity?
@GlacialGoldHunterАй бұрын
It’s a grey area. The law says no sluices but it’s listed in the section of mechanical separation. So I really don’t think the person who wrote the law knows what they are saying.
@EMFMinerАй бұрын
As long as you have permission from the landowner or are in a public place (no State Parks or Scientific and Natural Areas) and aren't pumping from or putting tailings directly into the body of water, you can technically run a recirculating power sluice in Minnesota. It's also possible to speed pan as fast or faster than a small sluice with minimal losses. At the end of the day, Minnesota law considers a sluice or dredge "commercia activityl," requiring a permit from the State. The reality is, if there are no financially rewarding places to prospect, you're doing it for fun, and you're using a little toy like an adventure sluice, good luck ruffling anyones feathers!
@mr.kenslifeshop4034Ай бұрын

Try the Gold Rush Nugget Bucket (gravity sluice) for cleaning your full bucket of concentrates. Works really well (when adapted) for catching that fine flour gold we have here in MN & gets around the sluice law. I show here on this video when I happen to run into the Flour Gold Wizard at Nugget Lake. I demonstrate my method at about 11:50 mins into this video :-) Check it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIDGq4avfbKkbJY
