My dad was the absolute king of bullet hell, amd the second level, once that OST kicked on, got him so pumped. That and the Voltron theme always made him 'go to work'on whatever he was doing. Miss you, pop

I first discovered this game in the mid-90s when my dad rented it for me. I don't remember much from that time other than this theme. I discovered the arcade version when it was announced as a pick for M2's ShotTriggers lineup for 2021, as part of a compilation with Tiger Heli and Guardian. I bought the PS4 version and now this game (the arcade version, specifically) is one of my favorite shmups. Also the Genesis version I dare say is harder than the arcade version, partly due to the reduced vertical space.

Amazing, thank you. Twin Cobra (original Arcade version) is among my first ever Shoot 'em Up games I played back then. Twin Cobra, along with Raiden 2 (Arcade) and Air Buster (Arcade) / Aero Blasters are the trifecta of Shoot 'em Ups. The absolute best of all time for me. But Twin Cobra is possibly my all time favorite (very tough battle though, I also love Raiden 2).

Who am i? Thought i played them all almost. This was an instant wow of happiness and good feel straight back to the typical catchy rocking approach upbeat soundtracks of both Sega and other companies. Reminded me of so much but shortly the only game i can mention is track 2 that flashed Phantasy Star II right before my eyes ♥

few songs get me as pumped up as Good Figure @5:17 the fact that most enemies on this game lead their bullets toward you makes it always very challenging even if uve played it a million times

@@mazonemayu Pero fue porteado por Graphic Research, porqué suena tan diferente a los otros juegos de Toaplan de la misma consola? Ya desde el sonido se nota que Toaplan no lo hizo, GR participó en el sonido de otros juegos como Battle Mania, por eso suenan tan similar.

Si fue portade par Graphic Research, pero siempre es un juego Toaplan, solo no han portado personalmente perohan creado el original. Otro ejemplo de eso MUSHA, mucha gente creen que es un juego Toaplan, pero es en realidad un juego de Compile pero Toaplan lo produia para el Mega Drive pero el juego todavia fue cree para Compile, no? 😅

@@mazonemayu Si, claramente Toaplan hizo la versión original, pero no está de más decir que GR lo porteó a Mega Drive y pues, es su respectivo desarrollador para esa versión nada más, siendo Sega of America el quien lo distribuyó en América, Treco para Japón, y que fue licenciado por la misma Toaplan, siendo un juego de ellos porteado por terceros a diferencia de Truxton, Snow Bros o Grind Stormer dónde ellos si desarrollaron sus ports a Mega Drive con sus respectivos publisher.

Check out Sega Retro, they usually have good quality box scans for most Sega Games (as well as good information on them).

I’ve not actually played Kyukyoku Tiger on the MegaDrive but I always loved the arcade chip tunes, especially level “Break a Leg” I loved hearing it here as the composers seem to have pulled a “Hitman” and improved on the original! BTW does anyone get a “she’s a maniac” vibe from the tune or is it just me? I half expect the chopper to change into Kimiko going Cannon Dancer on the enemy sprites!
