WOW! We go see the Twin Engine Renault 5 GT TURBO and it did not disappoint! This car is one of the main reasons we built the Twin Engine Corsa, it was a huge inspiration! 500 HP 20 years ago was no joke, it shown what was possible if you put your mind to it! It has been untouched, unmodified, since it was built 20 years ago, a compliment to the owner Mark for keeping in such good condition!

Well I am that 71 year old ,But haven't got this one in my Shed ! This is beautiful ! Hi from Australia ,We have been french Car Enthusiasts & owners Since 1955 ! All three French Marks & have loved them all ! I have a Meganne Sport Diesel hot Hatch that has been worked to 250 HP & 450 N.M. toque ,6 Speed M. Still loved it now as few Can Compete with it ! But Have owned 3 Reno 5 's ,last being one with 1721cc 5 Speed ! But the 5 Turbo's were always a very Special Car ,let alone being one with two Engines ! Thank U ,for this Great Video ,with Smiles galore ,and of Course much to Love ,from Downunder ,Aus !

I remember going to get my r5 some lowering springs in Stoke in 2002, and the twin engine one was in the workshop. Then I went over to Stockport to get it de-locked, and the twin engine golf was in that workshop! 😎

Loved the Renault 5 turbos back in the day! Another car from Renault that was amazing was the 21 turbo 2 and 4 wheel drive drive! Tuned up these cars were amazing and underrated

@@markphillips6998 They did sound good. The bonnet vent on both Phase 1 and 2 were cool too. Seen 1 on EBay that’s a complete wreck there’s a few Clio 16V’s though a car I never had and went for a 309 GTI instead.

Is Ian nixan still around? He was a top bloke! If I couldn't do a job on my 5, Ian or Justin at europarts motorsprt were the only two people I would let touch it. You could get on the phone and have a chat with Ian and he would always help. The good old days.

Last I heard it was stripped and scrapped so if its still around, that's awesome. I passed pipewerx a couple years ago and saw big dub outside. First time seeing it in the flesh.

My mate had one of these in the 90's (single engine) At that time it felt like the fastest car i had been in it was tuned an tweaked a little not much. However it also felt like the most dangerous all that speed coupled with 0 crash protection and its only single skinned. We had a water balloon thrown at us once i think we were only doing about 40mph and it felt really very not good!!. I would never want even a minor bump in one. But still they are great little go kart.

Didn't they used to strap the intercoolers on them once u turned the boost up. Beautiful car and the engineering to make it work. Keep up the good work mate. 👍👊✌

The original intercoolers needed to be strapped as they had plastic ends that popped off with higher boost. The straps were just like long jubilee clips.

Escort was the pickup I hear it’s still around being rebuilt as rear engine, not heard anything for years on that’s. The twin engine mk4 golf is still going today but not the g60 shell. I am going to make it my goal to track them hence hassling Mark for months 🤣

Due to illness yes the car hasent been on the road for a while. Twin engine cars are perfectly legal, look at it on the principle of an hybrid, engine, motor. Both car work independently or together. Even Volvo advertise a “twin engine” car if your search google.

Avec des ailes larges a l arriere comme la r5 turbo bha ca aiderait pour le refroidissement vue que sur la r5 turbo les prise d air l ateral arrière etait aussi la pour refroidir le moteur mais un seul moteur aurait etait enplement suffisant 500 ch on peux les avoirs avec un celle moteur oui a l arriere ci tout et bien centrer et équilibré un gros 2L 16S turbo is one big bomb the cars yeee of sure just one motors the 2L16 s the clios rs ho megane RS 3 big turbo yes is good
