SO this song is in a movie but not exactly the way it is performed here. Every time he will perform the same song differently, it's improvised in each performance. The point of these performances in general is to showcase the musical prowess and physical ability to control the voice.

He is not using vibrato , those are all different perfect pitch stacato notes from different place at very high tempo , your ear is is not ready to listen these. Listen to taan of different raaga for months then listen this performance again. With a western ear there’s very thin chance you could understand the complexity simply.

Let me share about Indian classical Music. In Indian Classical music we have have saptak(octave) (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa) For a male we have base note C# (As of C#2 in harmonium) 1.C# equivalent to Sa 2.D# equivalent to Re 3. Ga- F 4.Ma-F# 5.Pa-G# 6.Dha-A# 7.Ni-C 8.Sa-C# (C3#) These are pure notes. The notes left in between are Komal swaras like re(denoted small letters) is equivalent to D note ,ga is equivalent to E note and so on. Now in a sargam Sa and Pa don't have Komal swaras. Singers usually sing in three octaves which is Mandra saptak, Madhya and Taar saptak. This C#2 base is for Madhya saptak (Root note) . There are many raags in Indian classical music more than 300( I don't know exact). Each raag has its aavroh and avroh which is Ascending and descending order. And when I saw ascending and descending order it's not merely just singing those particular notes but it is glinding between those notes. You can hear musical ornament here called taan which is singing (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni ) very fast gliding or using the sound aaa

this is probably a prayer/worshipping song/chanting to the Sun(if im not mistaking)....the name of the song indicates -> Arun(hindi)= sun....in our hindu mythology Sun is a god, the god of Day, As well moon is the god of night....this specigic style of classical singing is called - Tarana....but some basic lyrics are there sung with Tarana here that indicates that he is worshiping the Sun god....those gurgling sound you both heard & mentioned is called - Gamak....basically its a rhythmic vibration of a single or 2-3 notes....nothing is random in our classical music... its all mathematical and extensively rhythmic calculation based.... but its sung in such a intricate way that seems random to an untrained ear....i myself a vocal artist, and i have been learning classical music for the last 20 yrs or so, since i was 7 or 8.. P.s -> if u guys wanna know more about the basics about indian classical singing, just type "what is raag" in the youtube search space....

There's this really interesting concept of Raagas in Indian classical music. Each Raaga is formed in a way as to bring out certain emotion/mood to the compositions made in that Raaga. This composition, I believe, is built to invoke the Vir and Gambhir Rasa (heroic and grim, the kind of music that would be used to describe a brave warrior? More or less) Like you guys mentioned, raw, nothing to hide behind, coming out clean and brave, putting yourself out there with no hesitation, firm steps... Each raag has its particular quality, and compositions made following that raag's rules will invoke that raag's designated feelings. I honestly think you will enjoy this concept of Raagas. It's very interesting. P.s. I am not trained in music, and this theory might be much more complicated or different. This is just my understanding of how music and emotions are considered in Indian classical music 🥰

The lyrics are in Marathi language. "Swar katyar kalajat ghusude"!!! 'swar' means vocal, tune, rhythm etc 'katyar' like little sword 'kalajat' means heart but in subtle form. Its diffficult to explain in proper English but somehow " please God, form of eternal tune/rhythm of little sword goes into straight to the heart " don't take it as literally it is more devotion to the music.
