Just serviced both these motors that have not run for many years so a water test is a good idea to make sure they are performing properly after repairs. Hood you enjoy the video.

Its interesting that the under power( both engines) boat did not appear that stern heavy, but totally different situation with only one engine running!
@25hpboatracerman8 ай бұрын
Hi mate, Yeah, well picked up 👍 It’s because I had them trimmed right down but running only one motor didn’t have the thrust to lift the stern back up and drop the bow. Cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

Back in the day I ran twin 2hp Suzukis on my 12ft tinny, what a hoot that was 😁

Cheers mate, Yeah was a good spot to give them a run. They are a bit wimpy those 9.9hp four strokes but nice runners. Cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

Hi mate, I’m sure cavitation would be massive with one motor full forward and one full reverse 😂😂 Cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

put a 9.9 2 stroke next to the 9.9 4 stroke, would be kinda awesome to see the difference in both
@25hpboatracerman8 ай бұрын
Hi mate, Yeah I agree 👍 Unfortunately I didn’t have a 9.9 two stroke at that stage to test along side them. I do have a modified 8hp two stroke that if I get a chance will compare though. Cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

for sure smaller motors 2 stroke is the go for hole shot and more power. But being a 4 stroke u going to save a bit more fuel and takes a bit longer to get on plane compere to the 2 stroke. Cheers good job mate great video.

Hi mate, Yeah, small 4 stroke outboards are a bit wimpy but I don’t mind the bigger ones. Cheers and all the best, Aussie Boat Guy 😎

If you had put 1 motor forward 1 motor reverse you can spin it on the spot
@25hpboatracerman3 ай бұрын
Hi Champion, I should have done that 😂 cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

Hey mate you have a lot of knowledge about motors just wondering, I have a 1985 2stroke 3.5hp merc out board, the motors run well. Although i there are 2 inlets/outlets and both leek fuel when tilted. One is on the upper inlet side and the other is on lower side I am wondering should there be a hose joining the 2.

Hi Mate, it could well be that the float valve in the carburetor is malfunctioning (it shuts the fuel flow off when the carb is full and only lets enough in to keep the bowl full) if the float valve is stuck open the fuel will trickle out the air vents in the carb body. cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

Thanks for the reply@@25hpboatracerman I reckon that's exactly what it is. It's really pouring out now. I am trying to get some replacement parts if i can't. Or do you reckon its worth just removing the float and giving it a clean. and hope the gaskets can be reused. Thanks again for the reply.

😅 Quick question what trim setting did you use on your Fish Nipper 3•5.
@25hpboatracerman8 ай бұрын
Hi mate, I now have hydraulic trim and tilt on every motor I use on that boat so constantly changing. Obviously trimmed right out when wanting speed. Cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎
