The message for Diane was not only in uppercase letters, but also had punctuation (comma, period) where none existed. So someone sent that message to her after they got it. Note that Evil Coop's message also says '2/2' meaning it was the second page of a longer message. The plot, as they say, thickens.

Diane practices alchemy. You can tell just by looking at the specific color combinations she uses in her apartment, fingernail polish, and most clearly, her clothing. The colors black, white and red signify three phases in "traditional" alchemy, discussed in many books (usually about the occult) that touch on the matter. Diane wears all three like an alchemist's uniform. For example, her no nonsense white hair, her red shirt and black skirt. Then think to what her apartment looked like back a handful of episodes ago: She had lamps with the same colors. And in Episode 9, as she's reading the text, her nail-polish is black, white and red. And by the way, the text Diane received was a forward of what BadCoop sent to the original recipent, hence why the text she received was in all upper-case letters (BadCoop typed it in all lower-case letters) and why a comma is missing in the forward she received. She is not "partners" with BadCoop. IMO Diane will be the one to see through both Coopers and thus spot the real Dale Cooper before something catastrophic happens, for example the real Dale Cooper confronting the Black Lodge with imperfect courage, thus being "utterly annihilated" by it, as Deputy Hawk spoke of 25 years ago while retelling the lore of the Black Lodge as told by his tribe. She is not partners with BadCoop; rather, she's somewhat like Major Briggs in that she knows more about what's going on than likely anyone else. After all, she practices - or has practiced and perfected - alchemy. She is accustomed to the occult and one of the main tenants of alchemy is purification,

I think Doppelcoop sent the text message to someone like the guy who hired Ike the Spike, and he possibly relayed it to a bunch of people (Diane included?). They were obviously sent from different phones (Diane's text said "iMessage", and Coops pink phone was not an iPad), and one is in all caps and has a comma.

I feel like Diane's reaction to seeing Evil Coop was genuine and she was honest when she said that E.Coop's heart was missing. I believe the lower case to upper case transition of the text is a sure sign that Bad Coop didn't mean to send it directly to Diane.

I'll need to watch that again, but the way things were worded, I'm almost certain that the "certain person" was someone else. I believe he mentioned they arrived and met "a certain person", and then he also mentioned the Major was there hiding - or rather, hibernating. He didn't say they want there to meet the Major, so my take is it's someone else, with my best guesses being BadCoop, or maybe Philip Jefferies. But I definitely got the impression he WASN'T referring to Major Briggs when he said that.

When they were talking about Hastings earlier in the episode, they quoted an entry from one of his last blogs, which ended with Hastings saying, "We finally found the zone today and made contact with the Major." That led me to believe it was, indeed, the Major who they were trying to make contact with from the outset. But hey, that doesn't mean I'm right. Like you said, I'll have to watch it again. You may very well be right. One thing's for sure: BadCoop has got his hands all over this zone/lodge/coordinate business. So I wouldn't be surprised. Anyways, always enjoy your videos. It's tough to say how much of a role Bobby will have going forward as he may have already fulfilled his story purpose with finding the clues, but given that Shelly's daughter is on drugs (and even if she isn't his daughter [ we have no idea ] Bobby would still possibly want to help her) and the drugs are probably tied to the Black Lodge and bad things, he could also play a role in that part of the storyline.

I think you are dead on about Diane and bad-coop! I imagine you are on the twinpeaks subreddit and have seen the theory that Duncan Todd, Patrick Fischler character, who sent the hit to Ike the spike is the middle man to Dian and Coop. In ep 2 he says to his employee "she has the job" could Diane be the she, he was referring too? It is either that or the assassin woman, but she has direct contact to Philip Jefferies so she must have been much closer within the organization. therefore i think Diane is hired, for starters she seams down on her luck, drinking smoking, ??whoring?? so she proboly needs the money. Anyway just my two cents. Keep up the videos!!!

When I watch the smoking scene in this episode, it makes me think of Agent Preston as the good angel on Cole's shoulder, and Diane as the evil angel tempting him with the cigarette, adding to the duality of these two women and how they dislike one another, and possibly Diane's secret involvement with Mr. C

And when Tammy told Cole to keep his voice down when talking to Davis on the plane, did anyone else catch Diane pretending to be asleep? She was clearly awake and listening when Cole was talking on the phone, but then when he approached her moments later, her eyes were closed, like she was asleep. I think the lower/uppercase letters are an indication that possibly neither party knows exactly who they're communicating with, and that there is a relay in play here, but one way or another, Diane definitely seems to have an agenda of her own.

The general comment at the moment seems to be that the small piece of paper has two and a half Coopers. But if you examine closely the original message, from which this was apparently taken, although partly obscured by a thumb you can clearly see at least four Coopers. So maybe not as significant as some are implying.

Your observation on how the various entities, both good and evil, float when they are actively creating made me start wondering about that symbol which appears both on Major Briggs' note that Bobbie discovers and the map that Hawk has later--the black blob with the two appendages. The entities float into a kind horizontal (or at least non-vertical bodily position). The Giant when creating Laura; Judy when creating Bob. That symbol reminded me of floating horizontal Judy. Maybe the symbol stands for Judy. Sheriff Frank Truman asks Hawk about it. Hawk cryptically responds that it is best left alone.

I'm afraid the lowercase-uppercase transition only has to do with the text message settings on different mobile phones :( Mr. C's phone is a Symbian clamshell, while Diane has an iPhone! The lowercase turned uppercase actually makes sense (which is a turnoff for Lynch viewings!!)

For the record, there's been a lot of speculation in different comments sections this week that Bill Hastings wrote "9/20" instead of "9/29" next to the ID photo of Major Briggs, because the second nine is drawn differently than the first nine and looks kind of like a zero (the stem of the character crosses into the next photo, and is hard to see). I just re-watched that scene, and Hastings definitely says aloud "nine twenty nine" as he is signing it. So, I propose we put that particular discrepancy theory to bed for now.

alex crow i understand your frustration, i thought episodes 3 through 6 were extremely disappointing, and that 8 was ridiculous in many respects. But the scenes with Bobby, his mom, the note from Major Briggs, etc, have renewed my hope that things are finally coming together. Nadine Chamas Mr.C wants to kill the real Coop trapped in Dougie's body. (Remember when One-armed man told Coop that one of them had to die?) And the scene in Twin Peaks takes place on September 29th, 2 days away from the date(10/1) written on the note. I'm not quite sure about the date Hastings wrote. He could have written the 9 weirdly or the scenes could be taking place at different times.

Most people believe its a sloppy 29, I thought that it was 20 too, but you would think in 9 days the FBI would make it to twin peaks or cooper, you know what I mean? So in like the 3rd or 4th episode we learn that original coop will not be whole until evilcoop dies, thats why he gets the vision from mike "don't die", because if OG coop dies then Evil coop will have all his strength. Once coop leaves the lodge he is suppose to be go back into his original body (evil coops) but because dougie was around and evil coop resisted, OG coop was transported into dougies body, that was dougies reason for being created. Idk if what I said makes sense its hard to talk about the persona of 3 characters.
