I can't describe how this show has affected my life. I would run home from work and get absolutely lost in the world of David Lynch, and Twin Peaks. I'm so overly joyed season 3 is around the corner. That gum we like is back In style

@@Casinorhgd I'm not the original poster but here is my quick take. The entire third season consists of simply _marvellous_ sequences which are absolute masterpieces when viewed in isolation. But they don't gel into anything. The entire basis of the third season is completely whimsical, as if written at the last moment, with entire chains of events abandoned in a fraction of a second after careful weeks-long development or with events suddenly jumping tracks simply to follow a certain desired conclusion. It feels like the screenwriters had a huge collection of fantastic little stories and hoped something would make them stick in the end. Perhaps Lynch counted on the repeat of the _Mulholland Drive_ miracle which had started as a similar brilliant but incoherent jumble of events but ended up being rescued by a last-minute miraculous flight of inspiration. This miracle didn't happen with the third season of "TP". I do like rewatching large portions of it simply because the separate sub-stories are just so brilliantly written, acted, and directed. But as a whole it just fails. What Lynch and Frost needed was an extra year or two to pull back and _carefully think things over_ on paper (only). Unfortunately, in real life one has to shoot when the money is available and this time the money came too early.

As a sort of baseline, I consider Kubrick's "Shining" to be a failure, actually much worse than the third season of "Twin Peaks" which is genuinely inspired. For example, Episode 8 is simply a masterpiece. But the last episode, esp. the ending, is simply an embarrassment.

The secret history of twin peaks book alludes to the brother of Harry (Franklin Truman) who was sheriff before Harry. My money is on Robert Forster playing him.

Oh how i love this series. i literally got goosebumps when this video began with the theme music. I have always wanted to see at least one more show to tie up all of the loose ends left by the series finale. I was hoping the prequel (Sequel) Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me would have done that, but alas it only did as far as telling us what many of us already figured being about Laura's killer. being her pervie father. God we loyal and faithful fans have waited what feels like forever for these new shows. Only wish it had been done when the entirety of the original cast was still alive and tbh younger. I so hope this extremely long wait will pay off. I hope those cliff hangers from long ago are addressed, otherwise I will just have to finally do it myself.

I didn't want to speculate at the time since the show was prepping to air, I was there the night they filmed the scenes at the Palmer house which as you know turned out to be the finale.

Everything so far points toward "yes". While Lynch is indeed impossible to predict in so many ways, he's also a lot more concerned with the emotional continuity of his characters than your average content creator. That cliffhanger is pivotal to Dale Cooper's story, no way he and Frost would drop it like a hot potato.
