The fact that you filled the little dimples in the fender well, is above and beyond. Your shop is the type of shop that a client can say "Do what you want. I trust you to do it correct!". Great job guys!!👍

This is not metal fabrication. It’s a work of art what you guys do, and I am all here for it. One would think that the engine would be held in place by more engine mounts, but no. Mind blowing.

Headlight intakes look good. Yall could make some dome mesh covers to put in the Headlight buckets kinda like headlights n do like I said b4 n put some DRL lights around them and the actual headlights n it would just blend them in and alot of folks wouldn't give it a 2nd look as far as it being a turbo air intake

Would it have been easier if made a bunch of trapezoids, welded them together, then smoothed everything out for the scoops with the roller? you could even have a hole in the center to help with how the metal expands.
@SalvagetoSavage
@SalvagetoSavage 3 жыл бұрын
As great of an idea as that is, it probably would have ended up as more of a headache in the end. It's insanely easy for that mental to start warping as it heats up with the welding; leaving you with a wavy ring. Then on top of that, to try to smooth out all the welds and blend it evenly down into a seamless piece would have been equally frustrating, compared to making it all out of one piece to start with. Plus, with this way, Tim got to play with the acetylene torches! lol If you want to give the trapezoid method a shot in your spare time, we'd love to know the outcome. We're always looking for ways to be more efficient with our fab! If it works for you, we'd definitely give it a shot next time

I love the mounts, but why make two jigs when you only need one?
@SalvagetoSavage
@SalvagetoSavage 2 жыл бұрын
Efficiency. Even with the jigs, you want to weld smaller sections at a time and let them cool before continuing. If you look back on the video, Tim jumps between the two mounts when welding, so having 2 allows him to take the time he spends waiting on one mount to cool to work on the other one. Hope that helps!

What are you doing to correct the bump steer after you moved the rack

I had a 2004 Audi S4 4.2 V8 that blew up with broken timing chain guides and I went electric after that.... I don't miss it. What's the next EV project? Mustang fastback EV? Rock crawler EV wrangler?

We got another cool classic coming up for an EV swap. We're going to finish out a few projects before we drop that one on you!

Are you worried about bump steer from moving the rack?

Awesome stuff. Love the channel. Did you consider using the Dodge Challenger SRT intakes so you could integrate turn signals in place of the headlights you removed?

That's a pretty good idea, but we wanted to use the OEM headlight rings that came on the car to make sure it fit the flow and styling of the other headlights perfectly! Thanks for the tip though, we might just use that in another build!
