Headlight intakes look good. Yall could make some dome mesh covers to put in the Headlight buckets kinda like headlights n do like I said b4 n put some DRL lights around them and the actual headlights n it would just blend them in and alot of folks wouldn't give it a 2nd look as far as it being a turbo air intake

Would it have been easier if made a bunch of trapezoids, welded them together, then smoothed everything out for the scoops with the roller? you could even have a hole in the center to help with how the metal expands.
@SalvagetoSavage3 жыл бұрын
As great of an idea as that is, it probably would have ended up as more of a headache in the end. It's insanely easy for that mental to start warping as it heats up with the welding; leaving you with a wavy ring. Then on top of that, to try to smooth out all the welds and blend it evenly down into a seamless piece would have been equally frustrating, compared to making it all out of one piece to start with. Plus, with this way, Tim got to play with the acetylene torches! lol If you want to give the trapezoid method a shot in your spare time, we'd love to know the outcome. We're always looking for ways to be more efficient with our fab! If it works for you, we'd definitely give it a shot next time

I love the mounts, but why make two jigs when you only need one?
@SalvagetoSavage2 жыл бұрын
Efficiency. Even with the jigs, you want to weld smaller sections at a time and let them cool before continuing. If you look back on the video, Tim jumps between the two mounts when welding, so having 2 allows him to take the time he spends waiting on one mount to cool to work on the other one. Hope that helps!
