FABRICATION IDEA!!!!! At 8.00 minutes on video. That blue tape could be the top of an oil cooler meeting up with edge of radiator. Now put an (Iroc hood style or testerossa style) bedside vent, back close to tail lights (creating a negative pressure sucking heat out of cooler fins). Now create side scoops (on bedside) behind cab, to create a positive pressure flow in front of coolers. Now go to other Side and mirror everything with transmission/transfer cooler. Install a few aluminum sheets in the bed to direct airflow. Anyway. That's how I would do it. Who knows how cool it could get with several minds spending hours working it out. But the negative pressures ARE very good heat pullers!

For the parachute you should make a removable U-shaped bar that mounts to the bed. If you made it wide enough you could fit it around the radiator. I have some designs that i drew up if you throw your to me ill send them your way. That way you could extend it any way you want and can remove the parachute to clean up the look when there is no need for it. A solid bar from the frame to the bed could really help the rigidity of the bed, as well as make a perfect mount for the chute. Also, LEO here! Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it.

Just a little back story before getting to my main point. I am a Navy Vet, currently in the Army, about to retire. My latest MOS is Machinist/welder and a competition sheet metal worker. I have always wanted to use those skills for myself, which I have never been able to do.. Ever since I was 14, I have envisioned a specific custom vehicle; a custom job that I have never seen or heard of. I did end up with the first piece of this vehicles puzzle but it never went any further than a plan; a dream project. My first daily driver was an all original 69 C-10 (307ci, turbo 350, long bed, nothing special). My dream and what I would have loved to see this turned into was a 69 K-10, Crew Cab, Turbo Diesel, pass thru (through) tandem rear axeld 6x6, with late model Bell's &, whistles for suspension and interior. I have had this truck plan blueprinted (hand drawn; not true blueprints LOL) plus I have been planning parts and donor vehicles since I was able to drive but I never found the time or money (mostly, it was a time and a tool/equipment issue) to get it together. Now that I am in my mid 40s and so close to retirement, I will have the time to do what I have been dreaming of. One way or another, I will end up building this truck at some point; tools and equipment would only make it easier and provide a more "presentable" finished product ..... but, even without, I still have plans to complete this build. I can appreciate anyone that helps someone to fulfill a dream; I salute those that help others to reach points where they couldn't have reach on their own. Channels like yours keep my dream alive. I watch the builds that you do and get a renewed excitement about something I have wanted to do for ...... 30, 35 years. I thank you for that. Having PTSD/TBI, it often takes having something to look forward to, just to get through some days. Your videos give me that; reenergizing my dream while providing entertainment and making my mind explore new ideas for my plan. Again, I thank you. Keep up the great work. I look forward to your future projects and getting started on my own.

For that length of coolant hose probably be a good idea to put a booster pump to help take the stress off the main engine water pump with the water flow since you almost doubled the capacity with all that hose. It's kinda like a boat, one pump to pull the water out of the lake/ocean and the stock engine pump to circulate the coolant through the engine. Also it might be to late of a suggestion but I've been liking the turbocharger from Nelson racing engines, he designed a mirror image turbochargers (1spins clockwise and the other spins counterclockwise) so everything stays symmetrical and looks a hell of alot cleaner in the engine bay.

You should sell raffle tickets to try and get the funds recouped for building the truck and for a stage 2 of the truck. Have the winner(s) come out and drive the truck or if that's some kind of liability then maybe hold a meet and greet where winners can come out and meet you, laz, and George at a track and have a killer time. Just a heads up and sorry if a bunch of people have already commented on this. I noticed you are using a .75 diameter roughly 4" long endmill to do the milling of that one piece in the video. While it's not the end of the world you are asking for trouble and greatly increasing the time required to make your cut compared to a stub version of that same tool, or better yet a 2" facemill. A shorter tool will increase your speed, cutter ridgidity, accuracy and just give you an overall better end result. Just trying to help you out and not tell you you're doing anything wrong. Love your videos! Keep up the good work!

12:57 brought me to tears. And I don’t cry lol. But I do know that there are other veterans that need to hear that more than I do. Was very heart warming. Also, I’m not a fabricator, welder, etc... but I like to problem solve. I’m assuming you only need the shoot for running down the strip. Have you thought about extending it out by like 4 inches, and setting it up on a “hitch” style receiver to the bottom of the truck, off of whatever strong points down there. Make braces from the top of the radiator mount bar that com Dow to support the shoot too. I don’t know if this is already a thing. But essentially you would be able to remove it for road tracks and have it for the strip and give the wing room to fold however you want it to? It looked like it was originally designed to be removed but I don’t know?

There is a MythBusters on truck gas mileage and whether the tailgate up or down effects it. Bunch of good truck aero work was done in the course. I tried to find it, but not in the few mins I had to look. It's happenin' guys- it's really happenin'! Kudos for support of ptsd sufferers and first responders. Go fast and be safe!

I raced go karts for years here in TX but we didn’t do shifter karts like yours. We took 5hp engines and modified them and ran em on nitro, basically like a he dragster motor. They are so fun and intense to go that fast on a dirt circle track 1-2” off the ground. Such an adrenaline rush! Technology is growing so fast, there is stuff available now that was nowhere back when we raced. Show more vids on the karts

What about gills behind the rear wheel wells to feed air into the radiator? Kinda like big naca ducts. Also gets the air in from a high pressure zone rather than the low pressure area behind the cab. That could keep the air intakes below the body line rather than sticking out. Could also run another from underneath as well

Kinda what I was thinking. Just do a good sized relief cut in the side of the bed and duct it in. Should be pretty slick in operation and it keeps everything clean in terms of the visuals.

I'm an older guy who started out carting in my early teens. My dad originally had a body shop in the Moonshine Capitol of the World and our business, Miller Body shop, begun in 1948 in Dawsonville, GA when my dad left the Navy. Today, in our hometown, the business is memorialized on the side of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. We transitioned into Miller Auto Supply by the early-1970's. My first job was delivering parts in my early teens, then I took over the business by the time I was 21 after my father's health began to fail. The business put me through college and some graduate degrees, but the most memorable opportunity it opened up was using my delivery money to begin in carting. There were several of us who played around together from elementary school on and it was usually car-related. Our group included ARCA, NASCAR driver, David Sosebee whose father had won Daytona on the beach three as a pioneering NASCAR driver. There was Squeaky whose father was the Mayor of Dawsonville, Chip who recently retired from the Army as a Lt. Colonel,. And there was Bill Elliott who you may recall from his career in NASCAR. Of the group, only Bill didn't race carts with us but we did race cars anywhere we could on or off the road; however, Bill put his son, Chase, into a cart as soon as he was able to see over the wheel. Chip began in vintage racing before he retired and his wife has some track records in Formula V. I traded in my helmet for a tie and spent my career driving a desk as a public school teacher in my hometown. Having set that up in a lengthy intro., let me say that all of us who grew up in carting will tell you it is, as you say, the most fun you can have with your clothes on. My son, a third-generation wrench turner, has made a profession of growing up in a car-focused environment. He hasn't had as much cart experience as we'd hoped for, but he did get some time behind the wheel. More important than the huge amount of fun, I believe, is the experience that transfers directly into driving, whether on the track or on the public highways. All of us who ended our racing career with carts have said many times that carting saved our lives and the lives of others when faced with situations most drivers could not recover from -- losing traction on a turn, hydroplaning, drivers who pull square out in front of you, avoiding obstacles in the road as well as constantly evaluating our position on the road by thinking "What if?" things go terribly wrong? "Do I take a ditch or do I risk that there might be a car in the other lane? Can I brake, turn the car 360 degrees to burn off the energy rather than collide with an object?" Of course, I have no real solid data to support my contentions about carting, but I have found myself drawing from those experiences even 50 years after I ran that fast with my ass so close to the ground! And yes, I'd like to see more about carting in your videos, not as a replacement for anything you do, but a smattering of carting from time to time would certainly make my finger itch to hit the "Like" button!

Great wisdom Sir. Funny coincidence The carting track we have shown in some drifting videos etc used to belong to Bill and I know he made it for chase.( Blairseville GA) He did eventually get into carting and spent a decent amount of time doing it. I love that little track. Very cool.

On your airflow - the air will go from under the truck and around the sides and curl around and basically push back to front in the bed/tailgate area. Wasn't sure of that until I drove an old truck with no roof (a whole other story) and a load of bark. By the time we got back to the job, I was fighting a pile of bark to use the brake pedal. Itchy...for...days... haha
