I had a Van Aaken Turbo conversion on my Sporting back in 1996. A whopping 105bhp...would pull right off the clock (120mph) all the way to the limiter in 5th. Was hilarious fun.

I had a Broom Yellow Cinquecento Sporting that had various engines throughout its life, but had a 1.4 16v when I eventually sold it. I fit in, and I used the Cinquecento box so didn't need to fab any mounts but did need to take the angle grinder to the drivers side mount. It had the same Punto GT front brakes, and then Uno Turbo rear disc conversion (used the car's original front discs on the rear for that!). I miss that car, but do have an R53 Mini now which is scratching that itch.

Love it love it love it. In 1998 I had an M reg sx, I slammed it and dare I say, a K&N air filter. It was 899cc, couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding but it took corners like it was glued to the road. M481 VMA I think

I still have my cinq still with its 899cc engine. Good tyres and lowered as low as it can go and drive it flat out all the time. Love it but would love it more with this kind of power

If the pedals are too close, left foot braking won't help, get yourself some proper shoes. Will transform the feel of driving. I dropped a Punto GT 1.4 Turbo lump from a smashed Punto GT into my old 1995 Broom Yellow Cinquecento back in 2006/2007. I had to modify the bumper for the rad and intercooler but it pretty much dropped straight in and was stupidly quick back then. God knows how mad this must be to drive! 😂, unfortunately it threw a rod after 18 months and that was then end of that.

I raced a stock one of these on my Italjet Dragster Scooter 172cc, i think he thought he could finally beat something off the lights i looked over to him and i think he was trying to impress his GF, so we took off and i left him for dead, his GF was laughing and he was not. Felt a little sorry for him as i think he thought it was a little 50cc scoot but mine was modded with 172cc big bore kit, exhaust sport variator and uprated clutch. Was somewhere under 8s 0-60mph with 80mph+ top speed. It was also a yellow one but before the inbetweeners made it famous haha. Love this one though install looks really clean like it was always meant to be there. I dont think i would have much luck beating this one off the lights haha.

What happens is you build the car I've had in my head for god knows how many years and never been able to get the funds and time. I've got one in the exact same colour sat in my garage and I had the exact same plan for it. Been off the year 9 years now :(

VERY cool car and always liked the look of the Cinquecento but boy watching the crash test results put me off, never seen worse results from a Euro car. Slight prang in that and you're losing an appendage or ending up in a wheel chair.

@@Tjetinside ah thought it sounded like a HKS! Didn’t realise you could run one on the Abarth engine (know a lot of modern cars you have to run part reserc valves to stop eml and running issues with MAF ect) sound really good 😍

Taking the car higher up the BHP, will run into cooling issues. Also, didn’t hear him mention uprated engine mounts - that drivers side headlight will pop out if solid mounts aren’t used.
