Excellent tutorial. Twining has confounded me, and you have made it clearly understandable. Thanks so much!

Definitely one of my favorite stitches but I've never done it with needles or 2 colors so really nice to see that! Thanks Jenell 🙂👍

Thanks for all your inspiring lessons. What kind of yaren you use here? If i want thiner yarn which to use so it wont be too thin?

This is a 3mm cotton string, a bulky weight yarn works great as well ☺️

So I love the idea of this stitch and what its meant to do, but when done how do I finish the stitch before moving on with the rest of the weaving? That may be a dumb question, but now I'm staring at 2 strings on 2 different needles and wondering what to do. So any help would be appreciated! Lol! Thanks for making this video and your other one as well with the hem stitch.

Not at all a dumb question! I usually leave my yarn tails out until I'm done weaving, and them tuck them in at the end before I take the weaving off the loom.

Hello, I've been enjoying your videos and I am wondering.... if you do twining stitch can you then just cut your warp strings and not tie any knots and it will be secure?? Thanks!
@spruceandlinen Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And no, you definitely need to secure the ends!

I really wish you would explain in more detail about how you go around the side selvage before going the other direction. In the video you say to "wrap the strings around" but that isn't very intuitive for a beginner, otherwise I like the tutorial very much!

Could you make a video on how to get a straight edge at the top of your weavings? For example when I'm creating weaves that have waves in it or like when you add big puffy stitches with roving on the side of your piece and don't follow it through, I always have this issue when I'm finishing it of with just the standard weave stitch that it doesn't straighten out and dips slightly in the middle. Hope I'm making sense its hard to explain without pictures 😅

Have you watched this video?: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIixZ6SEfK-EmKs That may help, basically I just fill it in with either another organic stitch, or even plain weave, enough rows I can get it straight. I'm sure I'll show this in more detail at some point!
