Having had religion rammed down my throat growing up, I was naturally familiar with shame and guilt, until the rational adult in me made me reasses and I left my faith. I was raised Muslim but I can relate to so many of your stories and I'm enjoying the podcast so much. I hope you both continue this for a long time.

I would love an episode with the story of Grant leaving the church/deconstructing and what happened to make him stop being a pastor, if he's comfortable with that of course. I really love the podcast so much. This is the only podcast that I watch, and I can't wait for the new episode to come out every week! I can't support on Patreon right now, but hopefully I can once it's up and running!

Another fabulous episode! 🩷 Grant you could totally lean in to podcasting and create a second podcast! You could talk more in depth about life and healing after leaving the church, about deconstructing an ideology you were born into, about your experiences as a pastor, about growing up, Christianity in general (there’s a million different topics within that alone), and maybe some interviews with guests, etc. There are so many directions you could take it, the possibilities are endless, and I truly believe a lot of Twinuendo listeners would support you, as many of us relate to you and enjoy your stories. You are very talented and a joy to listen to 🥰

I would throw 5-10 dollars at your patreon for bible discussion classes. I was a very OCD Catholic child, religion meant a lot to me then and I spent a lot of time in my young adulthood as an angry atheist, reading scripture to show people they were hypocrites. I'm very interested in a space where I can speak and listen on Christian culture and scripture from a place of compassion, study, and at least one part arming us to have conversations with the Christians in our lives.

I realize that's a lot to ask but, like, these are meaningful stories, it would be nice to talk about them and how they affect our lives in their complex and nuanced ways

Oh the existential fear I had (as a closeted trans girlie) when I would wake up and my house was empty and I was almost positive I had been LEFT BEHIND ~dun dun dunnn~ I had always had a feeling that I didn't fit the picture of what the "non-denomination bible church" that I grew up in considered "saved." Funny enough, much like Grant I became a worship pastor - Unlike Grant I WAS the gay one (well queer) so I eventually left the church and then when I transitioned I got to be like Drew and go no-contact with a bunch of family. Ill be honest its WILD hearing yall talk about your experiences because growing up in Texas the christian nationalism was so similarly flavored to the kind both of you grew up with. I live on the west coast now, and when I tell people what the christian culture was/is like they are dumbfounded and are shocked and horrified, or its just really hard for them to believe it was really THAT bad and extreme.
