Its pretty simple. The protoss on the ground are a vanguard. The little robot summoning the "black hole" is actually a construction worker. The task of the other protoss is to protect it until it can finish building Pylon, which is what materializes from the black hole at the end. Pylons are used as a teleportation beacons. Once its finished, the rest of the protoss army can start teleporting in as an actual invasion force.

The black hole summoned a pylon. If you look at the time it was started and when the pylon warped in, it's 90 seconds: exactly how long it takes in game.
