I was gaming alone in a dark basement when I encountered the Houdini splicer who sneaks up behind you. I have never been so scared in my life.

That sounds terrifying, but glad to see your still with us today after that. They did a great job of creating that horror atmosphere in Bioshock. Jump scares at the right time, but never too often, and that constant unsettled feeling. As good as RE I'd say.

I played this game so many times since it came out that it's ridiculous. I never really realized how many people died in such unsettling ways: Handcuffed to a bed (14:46), hands tied behind their back, electrocuted to the point where they burn, etc.

Same, there's so many unsettling moments. The bit with the dead little sisters watching TV actually made me shudder.

I'm surprised by how little attention this video got. One of your GTA's video got recommanded to me, and I'm glad I found your channel! As I've recently played for the first time ever Bioshock, I wanted to comment with my opinion regarding the game: My main issue, and I think it's an issue with a lot of "AAA", older and newer is just how long and repetitive it felt. Any blips of the story would get me excited, but then it was just rince and repeat. Sure the levels always looked great, with amazing care for details, but in the end they all really played the same. The twist is really the only thing that can make say I liked it, because at that point I had completly lost intrest. But overal I just feel like it should have been 3-4 hours shorter

Bioshock is one of the most amazing fps I every played, one thing I find a bit annoying is not being able to use weapons and plasmids at the same time (it was fixed in the sequel though)

Hey, Twin Stick?? Are you gonna review the entire series, cause not gonna lie I’d love to hear your thoughts on Bioshock 2 and Infinite. Bioshock is one of the best games of all time, and that twist…….Jesus Christ. To this day, it still gets me. But I must say I’m surprised, normally people hate the second half, but glad to see you and others enjoyed it. Anyway, all this to say, GREAT REVIEW MAN!! Good stuff.
@TwinSticksReviews3 жыл бұрын
Hey, potentially after I finish reviewing the GTA games. I've never actually played 2 or infinite, so I'm interested to see what they're like. Yeah the twist is still great even now, completely caught me off guard. To be honest I liked all of it, but the world building in the second half was phenomenal, especially with all the new knowledge from the twist - so good! Thanks man, appreciate it 👍

if you loved one you'll love 2 but infinite isn't the same for me, good game but doesn't touch the first two in story or immersion

Nice one, I'll probably review them both somewhere down the line and see how they hold up.

I used same logic when you wanted to open the door. Use a telekinesis and smash that button with something or electrocuted it. And then i realized that you could go through window. I was like..... Really??? That's it??? Come on. Dissapointment. Bioshock is good game but is not perfect
@TwinSticksReviews2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they should have had more immersive sim stuff in the environment, with multiple ways to beat an objective. Zapping the keypad or using telekenisis would have been much more interesting than crawling through a window.

Prey (2017) - one of my favourite games. Very similar to System Shock/Bioshock with loads of immersive sim mechanics. Would definitely recommend.

Bioshock was truly groundbreaking to me personally (like i found Dead Space too) I never found it scary, Dead Space was far more effective in that regard, but it certainly could make you jump. And the first time you see a Splicer it's a little unnerving. But the story was great (especially THAT twist!) the whole setting being an underwater city that went very badly wrong. Having the choice of gun in one hand and choice of powers in the other and experimenting with tactics was also great too. I never played Bioshock 2 but did get Infinite one Christmas and..........did NOT like it in the slightest! It had some cool ideas, stunning looks with it being set in a floating cloud city. Other than that it just didn't feel even close to being the same game, to me personally at least. I completed Bioshock but quickly gave up on Infinite, unusual for me as I always used to play games to completion.
