you know, after listening to this multiple times... you know, it feels like this track tells so much about the lone trooper and their world. it's like the original, but so much deeper and diverse. it's like waves of melancholy, horror, nostalgy, hatred, carelessness, and momentary - very short lived - happiness about still being alive hits the mind in an everlasting loop. it's like the trooper is doomed to patrol the devastated land filled with indescribable horrors as long as his heart beats. it's like that loop is a curse in and of itself - having to trod through nothingness all alone for the whole eternity.

I wonder though, how despite all of this, GDI got a superior to Tiberian Sun airforce(based surprisingly on TS designs such as the orca fighter and the orca bomber), as well as practically same Mammoth MK II? Given Twisted Insurrection's timeline, heavily upgraded Orca assault craft from TWI and heavily upgraded original mammoth would be more suitable. IMHO.

Андрей Чепурнов Obviously the Mod showers GDI with Plot Armor and Luck Nod should have most of GDI's vehicles and manpower after Dawn TI Nod should be a blend of TS Nod and TD GDI Imagine a Nod version of the Mammoth MK1 Tank: -Anti-Gravity -Two Laser Canons Nod Infantry should have superior weapons and armor to GDI (And Ironically are better trained and more experienced) The Black Hand is basically its own faction -Basic Unit is a Cyborg with a Laser Minigun -Elite Infantry outrange base defenses and use Tiberium Missiles! -Basic Tank has Stealth There is no way for GDI to bounce back should they lose Dawn (Especially since 80% of the World is under NOD's control) The TS Storyline would be a conflict between NOD and the Scrin The NOD Army becomes more diversified and more deadly, basically they curbstomp the Scrin

***** GDI supposedly got a lot of help from GloboTech, who might be actually behind developing orca fighter and orca bomber in TI Universe, or giving GDI-scientists the funds to to so. Still it is a very interesting coincidence, that the designs are about the same as in TS. Also, GloboTech developed a disruptor tank, which is almost a copy of the GDI unit from TS, but this time it is kept for themselves. Interesting things.

vortex light yes, yes, i know, it's just that selected perspective and low resolution makes it really hard for me to discern units. for example, Tiberian Dawn and RA1 had different perspective, so it was easier to, say, pull a horde of light and medium tanks apart. in this engine, however, tanks and infantry cover each other visually, so that when they are bunched up really tightly and are not facing exactly the same direction, it is pretty much impossible for me to see who's where. at least there are some visually different units, like walkers or infantry with colored weapons. i just wish there was a good open source RTS engine which was easy to use and wasn't making it hard to play.

yep, tried that, it's pretty good, although some parts of games on OpenRA engine are not the same, but those games are still much better overall than the originals. what's even better tho is The Red Alert mod for RA3, but, sadly, i haven't found a good TD or TS mods on any 3D engine, hovewer Tiberium Essence for Tiberium Wars comes pretty close to being TS's true successor, which is pretty great (and, IMO, better than any other game or mod in RA or Tiberium universe), but it's still not the same.

Took me a few seconds to figure it out- from the start I knew it sounded familiar, then that beat kicked in and I immediately recognized it as a more hardcore/action version of Lone Trooper. And it's a good remix - I do think I kinda prefer the original, but that's more because it was just that good of an ambient track to describe GDI. It's a grim world, but GDI /will/ protect what remains and then take it back from the fanatical zealots who would doom us all on the words of a bald megalomaniac.

My Tiberian Sun track list says that it is Lone Trooper. I think that, based on some of the stuff I've seen in other C&C soundtracks is that quite a few of the discs of lets say Red Alert, as an example, Mechanical Man 2 was called something else on some discs, and I think there were a few other songs in that game with different names on other discs. I think that that may have also affected a couple of the T.S. tracks as well.

With all due respect to the great job ti team is doing, I strongly disagree about TS score. TS-setting is more high-tech, more futuristic, and, at the same time more idealistic, than the TI-setting is. Thus the score fits TS perfectly. And nothing will ever compare to the magic of the opening GDI mission in TS. Especially when the game was played the first time ever, for me it was in november 2000, but I can still remember it, as if it was yesterday. Again TI is great, and so is its score, but original TS along with its score will remain my favourite C&C game.
