LA: This map does a good job of showing off what's different between TM1 and TM2 in terms of what elements are there like environmental hazards, destructibles in the environment, and just wide open spaces in contrast to the gridlike nature of most of TM1's levels. Also, the theme in this level is one I use a lot for my own stuff, to the point where it's my "get pumped" music if I'm on PB pace at the end of speedruns Loofs: Favorite level in all of Twisted Metal, am only disappointed that it's 2 player only. Suicide Swamp: having a Jet Moto level is pretty cool, but out of the three suicide tracks, I feel like Hammerhead (the beach/ocean one) would've been a better choice since it's a lot less claustrophobic compared to the one they wound up using. Moscow: Too starved of weapons, too close-quarters Paris: Iconic level, has an interesting cheese strat. The Eiffel Tower is probably the most memorable level setpiece in the series. Amazonia: Eh. Lava. New York: Was my favorite map as a kid until I discovered Loofs was a thing. Antarctica: Fun but I don't like that they had 7 enemies here, it causes a few things not to render properly and makes the level lag. Would've probably ran smoother if it was 5 enemies like the booklet says it was gonna have and like how the beta handled it. Holland: Bores the shit out of me, and I cannot beat this level without dying once. The map of all time Hong Kong: Definitely the most balanced level in terms of being interesting and in terms of challenge. Definitely one of my favorite levels Cyburbia: It really hurts being a 2 player only map because it's enormous. It definitely feels more suited being an eight enemy map like it was in TM1

My thoughts on the levels of TM2 .Los Angeles: I found this level pretty fun mainly due to its apocalyptic wasteland feel and the music, my only downside it feels like a racetrack rather than a environment to explore. .Moscow: I dont like this level at all because its mostly the Arena from TM1 except its 2.0, for me this is one of the difficult battleground to fight because it has little weapon supplies, its a small room to fight and you have to fight 5 opponents this is one of the levels that i keep dying everytime i finish the first level, the music is the only thing that i love. .Paris: I like this level mostly because of the tower since it can also be used as a way to get to the upper buildings, i wished this level would have been a little larger because it feels small, the music its pretty cool though. .Amazonia: An ok level but it could have more to show, at least an environment attack that shows an volcano fires fireballs and hits at everything that lands. I found Minion a little easier to fight in this game than the Minion from TM3 maybe he didnt spam too many special weapon as much as he did in TM3. Overall its an ok battleground if it have more details. .New York: One of my favorite levels because of being like The Rooftops from TM1 and the music has that desperate nature like if youre life depends on winning Twisted Metal LOL. For me, what makes this level hard is simply depending on the vehicle i choose and how i use my speed on it, New York was hard when i play as Twister because of its speed as for the vehicles i can't remember very well. The only thing i can say is use your speed cautiously and maneuver with care. . Antarctica: All i can said about this level is: its a freaking nightmare. Simply because the glacier falls apart at random and the fact that you have to fight 8 opponents its overwhelming. Luckily i found a way to beat it easier if you go to the remote section of another glacier using the teleport you can wait until a enemy appears and fire a ricochet at it to send him falling to its death. Pretty neat trick i rather do that while playing tournament mode LOL. Overall it may have decent design and background but its not one of my favorite levels. . Holland: Fuck this level. Its as bad as Moscow despite that it have more weapons and health pick ups. It has 9 opponents and worse part is that theres no shelter asode from the windmills but they can get destroyed pretty easily. This is the level that i keep dying and losing all of my two lives and it doesnt help if the opponents are Spectre, Grasshopper and Slamm. Sorry for using the bad word but its just this level angers me the most. Overall my least favorite level in the game. . Hong Kong: I like this level because of its colorful visual and music. I love the fact that this level feels larger and bigger than most others in the game. I found Dark Tooth to be more difficult to beat than in Head On because of its because special weapon and the fact that you have to fight its head makes it more insane although its head its easy to destroy. I play this level a lot in the challenge deathmatch mode its just its very fun. My second favorite level in the game.

Paris is my favorite map out of the entire TM franchise. I fondly remember deathmatching my roommate on that map for hours & hours back in the day.

So in terms of environmental shifts in the maps, LA had the first where you coud actually break the bridge to the small caged area with the full health so you could sit back and scope. Good spot to cheat with spector. Also, though your not meant to do thos,you can put a remote bomb on the top of the first tunnel I believe, and if you jump and detonate it at the right time, you can glitch out into the rubble. Also in Moscow, you can destroy all 4 of the piller ramps. Neither of these are as iconic as Paris, but it was clearly an idea they had for the whole game.

Never had much of a problem with New York and falling off...maybe the first few times I played the game, but once I became proficient with the controls the only times I would fall off the buildings would be due to an enemy knocking me off. I like that New York adds a universal enemy for all players, which implements a completely viable risk/reward strategy for eliminating opponents, so you really have to carefully consider your course of action in picking fights and exploiting the layout of the map to your best advantage.

It’s wild to me how much improvement the level design in TM 2 has over the first game. These levels are so distinct and create memorable arenas requiring a range of tactics. For me: S (among the best in the series) - Amazonia A (great)- Los Angeles; Hong Kong B (good)- Paris; New York; Antarctica C (acceptable)- Holland Trash - Suicide Swamp; Moscow

Dude DEAD accurate on Moscow. Literally despise the mockery of weapons on Moscow. Every time I have to build an arsenal for this level. I think for some reason Holland would have been cool for a Dark Tooth fight. I mean if the wind mills couldn't be destroyed. Gotta have a little cover

I find Antactica to be a lot tougher than New York since the latter doesn't have the "race against time" situation like Antarctica does as sections of the map fall off as the battle progresses

Hard disagree (respectfully!) on Cyburbia. Back in the day when my friends and I would have all night parties playing TM2, we played tons of this stage and it was always a wild and crazy good time. Our favorite way to play was have one person be Grimm or Specter and the other be Minion and the smaller player just see how long they could survive for. And even more kudos if they managed to win. Strategically using narrow areas to get Minion from being able to avoid traps, and the big highway sections just to zip away real fast.

Thank you for posting another video. I for the most part agree with your list with a few exceptions. I wouls have put the Jet Moto map in trash tier and bumped up the Moscow map to C tier. Next, I would have put the Cyburbia map in the C tier as well, it just does not seem as good. Finally the Rooftops from TM1 would have been S Tier in my opinion. Everything else is reasonable.

This game and Black are my all time favorites. I remember there being a secret code at the bottom of the New York stage, unfortunately you had to die to see it. On a side note, was there ever a stable Darktooth game sharkcode to play as him? I remember using a couple but they would always crash the game

I will respectfully disagree with a few points here-Holland is def the hardest map IMO-similar to like Drive In Movie from TM Black but still better than that garbage lol-I like the TM 1 Levels but I would give them all C ranking just because the 2 players only aspect-and I disagree about falling off on New York as a opposed to Rooftops-once you get to know NY it doesn’t take long to realize it all connects quite seamlessly and really isn’t nearly as easy to fall off as rooftops where you basically juss go up two ramps then fall in the pyramid,rinse and repeat and it is super easy to fall of of rooftops cause their isn’t as much level to drive in-Great content as always man, juss giving my honest opinion

In NY map, just go on that mid level where the locker room is near cannon ball pickup and knock ‘em over the ledge. Or do like I do with Mr. Slam and toss them to their death. lol

@@sonnimontelli7302 exactly, all those rooms you can drive into with all the pickups including an elevator without an elevator lol It has size, it has levels, has secret passages, I don’t understand why it’s not higher on this list. Make matters worse is putting Antarctica on top with Paris? SMH Last time I checked, you can get knocked off in Antarctica too. Not only that, the A.I. can spam freeze you while the ice glacier plate you’re on goes under. lol

Playing this game as a kid I absolutely hated Antarctica and New York, but after going back to the game as recent as a couple of months ago u figured out a rather cheap but hilarious exploit, it's timing ofcourse line up an enemy so they are near a drop off point then launch a richocete at them if they don't get out of way in time instant kill for you😂 because they have nowhere to go but down. also and I always wondered what that string of letters was if you fall to your death in New York it's the cheat code for unlocking Sweettooth, pretty clever on the developers end so props to them for that neat little Easter egg, TM2 is full of secret stuff maybe more so then any other game, can't wait for the next tier list TM3😁

Everyone who makes a list like this will be different. I’m sure there will be those who will disagree with my list but you expose yourself with putting Amazon over New York. All the fall-off situations in this map could work in your favor if you knew how to play. I like the Paris map for the same reasons I like the rooftops
