Twisted Metal (Windows PC) - Overview and Playthrough w/ Sweet Tooth

This is an overview of the very rare PC port of Twisted Metal for Windows 9x systems, which includes the installation process and a full playthrough with Sweet Tooth. I would have probably played through this game on Hard as the game logic is practically the same, but it was difficult trying to record it all in a single run. I'm surprised that there isn't more videos of this port online, especially on KZbin, so this video aims to fill in that void with a complete playthrough.

For the record at the uploading of this video, I was the first one to scan the disc and printed media; surprising that those who also got their hands on this game didn't scan the media to upload to the Internet, so I filled this void as well. I have also submitted these scans to MobyGames as well.

What i see between 1 and 2 is that there is no Damage 1 while 1 has Damage 1 and 2 on the vehicles. In 1 when vehicle is little damaged already shows some damage. When it's damaged very hard shows heavy damage. In 2 just shows damage 2.

so Twisted Metal 1 in PC is a different version of the game because include things that is not present in the PS1 •Save game •Load Game •More realistic in the damage •Online included •More option to look for the characters information •The sound in cars selection are more notorious than PS1 •Different style of loading screen

You also hear the drum intro to the main theme song between lives and when they announce Minion's appearance Different colored text as well.

Loved the original and very cool to see this port. The cartoony freeze blast seems out of place when compared to the dark realism of the game. Big thing I loved about TM1 was how you could damage an ai enemy from across the map at any distance, where-as TM2 had limited range.

This is a rare PC port and an hard one but the PS1 version pops up. Sony Japan did some limited release but Twisted Metal 2’s PC port does pop up and not this

I tried to install it on XP but because of DirectX it constantly crashes during the installation making it impossible to install it. While Twisted Metal 2 works perfectly with no bugs at all.

NICE fine, man! I would kill for a copy of this. I think this might be the first instance of a physical copy I'm seeing on the internet altogether. Was never able to find any cover scans or anything. So, there was never a big box version - only the slip cover/jewel case? Edit: Originally asked about resolution, but watched again and saw that it can be increased to 640x480. That's still pretty low, but makes me want to try it.

As far as I know, I've only seen the jewel case with slip cover. That might have been the only packaging this game came in, since Twisted Metal wasn't a success in Japan from what it seems like. The high resolution mode (640x480) does look great, but the machine I played the game with couldn't handle it with a stable frame rate. I may get the machine upgraded and try it again, however, for a different video.

I played as him since he's the most-annoying vehicle to fight in this game. Playing as him takes him out of the line up, that and his Special weapon and armor is pretty decent.

Is It Possible To Run This Game On Windows 10 64 Bit ?

I've personally got it running on my Windows 10 32-bit tablet using a software called dgVoodoo, but it's buggy. I do not think you can run this game on 64-bit Windows due to 16-bit dependencies it uses.

I got it running on windows 7 64bit but it runs way too fast. Like light speed fast. Idk if there is a way to slow the cpu down in software

Twisted metal 2 for PC did come out in the states. I do have a original copy. It's in English. However it is quite a bit different than this version. it mirrors more closely the PlayStation version. And I think that this one in the video actually looks better. Also jet Moto came out for the PC and I have a copy of that as well original.
