Thank you so much for this video! I think it is the ONLY video on KZbin that addresses Bavarian Twisted/Traveling stitches worked FLAT. Still having a hard time re-wiring my brain on the WS with traveling stitches, but I'll get it. Now if only I could get used to Maria Ehrlbacher's Twisted Stitch knitting charting conventions!

What does knitting in the round vs flat?
@SuzanneBryan4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question. Flat knitting is when you knit a right side row, then a wrong side row. Examples are shawls, scarves and such. In the round knitting is when you continually knit in a circle and all the rounds are right side. Examples include socks, sweaters knit in one piece, hats, mittens, etc.

So, am I to understand that this is the same as cabling but much smaller?
@SuzanneBryan6 жыл бұрын
They are similar but not the same. Twisted stitches are worked through the back loop causing them to twist. And they are twisted on every row, whereas, cables are usually only cabled on the RS rows when worked flat.
@SuzanneBryan6 жыл бұрын
And, you never cross more than one stitch over another. Great question. Happy knitting.
