You need to adjust the height on your mixer. There is a screw adjustment to raise or lower the mixer head. Thats why your sides of the bowl are not getting mixed with the bottom of the bowl. Some people dont know there is any adjustment, well there is!! 😊

@@galemartin3277I am not sure what stove you have. If you have an electric stove you might be able to set the temperature at 80. If not, just put some plastic wrap or a clean cloth on top of bowl and let it rise at room temperature until your dough doubles in size each time.

Growing up in Czechoslovakia, I have been helping my mom make Moravian Kolaches since I was a kid. Lately, I make a double batch of them to share with my daughter's family. I make them stuffed with the sweet cottage cheese, with half of a canned apricot. I make them about once a month. When and where did YOU first learn how to make Kolaches? I like how you allow them extra space on the baking pan, so they would not touch. I like it when they are perfectly round. After all, the Czech word Koláč is derived from the word kolo, which means circle. I understand that kolaches are quite popular in Texas, where there is a large Czech community.
@TwistedMikes Жыл бұрын
The other toppings sound delicious. We make them on occasion, but not that often, maybe once every year or two. They taste delicious, but while trying to do a KZbin channel we end up doing a lot of other recipes. It is a great tradition, especially around the holidays. Thank you for commenting and giving us your versions of the kolaches. We appreciate it.

My grandparents were from Romania. We grew up enjoying similar pastries with prune, poppyseed, walnut and apricot fillings. It seems most countries in and around Europe enjoyed their own versions of sweet doughs and these lovely fillings. How wonderful that these recipes haven’t been lost over time. Btw, my grandmothers sweetened “farmer’s cheese” for their fillings.
