Saw them in 84 opening for Iron Maiden. It was for the Stay Hungry tour so we didn't really expect much, we only really knew We're Not Gonna Take It and thought it was kind of cawk rock, We walked out fans after that night. They're live presence was electrifying and they put on an amazing show that absolutely blew us away. They gave Maiden a run for their money on that tour.

Why am I just now seeing this?!! This show is phenomenal! I mean I’m like 52 years old and I first got into these guys when I was 13 years old in the 80s. Listen! I’ve seen a lot of crappy concerts in the 80s. I saw Bon Jovi! I mean you can’t get more sold out that Bon Jovi. But I thought that was what I had to see because Bon Jovi was cool. That show sucked. I’m sure I passed on several opportunities to see Twisted Sister live. I think those goofy MTV videos killed their image. If we had KZbin in 1983 Twisted Sister would have been the #1 band in the world! A big thank you to whoever posted this video! Amazing !!!

I lived on Long Island and saw Twisted Sister play in a lot of the clubs on LI in their beginnings. I lived in Port Jefferson and saw them play at The Mad Hatter in Stony Brook many times. They were amazing in the clubs, their stage show was absolutely amazing, Dee always knew how to work a crowd, and God help you if you were up in front of the stage and didn’t move, cheer, dance and scream, Dee would single you out and do his best to embarrass you in front of everyone, lol. I saw these guys at the infamous 1979 Adventure Land concert on LI, Adventure Land was a small amusement park on the side of Route 110, when I say small it was just a tiny kiddie amusement park, they never expected 23,000 Twisted Sister fans to show up, especially since TS was an unsigned band, they had to shut down Route 110 because there were so many people there, what a show, me and my friends were right up front on the left hand side of the stage. I think this was pretty much the play list we saw, stage show was excellent, including their famous Death To Disco segment where they’d bust up a few Saturday Night Fever albums while everyone chanted Disco Sucks in the audience, what a great show. I read somewhere Dee asked the owners of Adventure Land if Sister could come back and do a 25th anniversary concert there, Adventure Land said, “No thank you, we’re still cleaning up from the last one”, lol. Great memories. Stay Cool 😎 and… \m/ Stay Metal \m/

If you watch the documentary they released you’ll see they spent a lot of their own money on the band trying to get that break. It wasn’t really for me at the time - but when you see how hard they worked for years they totally deserved their success. Given the comments on here - Maybe the studio albums just didn’t give an accurate feel of who TfS were !

But they didn't stay together for 48 years. The band broke up in 1987, and the classic line up didn't reunite until 2003. Until that point the band members were barely speaking to each other and couldn't stand being in the same room together. Mark down right hated Dee.

but they did not remain together for all 48 years. the band dissolved in '87 and only returned as a band 16 years later, LOL! Saw them in 1982 at L’amours the rock capital of Brooklyn, no cell phones in the crowd at that time 😀

Dee would've been pissed to see any cell phones back in '82 --- he'd say "put that soul-sucking piece of shit away!"

From Under the Blade to Stay Hungry the heaviness of this band takes them right out of being called a hair metal band. This is purely a heavy muthafuckin metal band. Been a Sick Muthafuckin Fan since 1984 when I was seven. SMF forever.

I think this another live concert that should be on CD and vinyl, this is an excellent live performance, there some songs that they played live that should had made it into an album but sadly they didn’t

The documentary on Twisted Sister on Netflix or Hulu was amazing. They grinded and grinded to get where they ended up.

I had this on dvd but lost it in a bad storage deal, I would like to have it again b/c these guys were raw and struggled for years on the New York circuit. I also had the live cds of a couple of those New York gigs.

I saw them at the Agora in New Haven for their under the blade tour. The best bar band I have ever seen. They deservedly blew up after that. The glam look held them back for a minute but they were just to good
