Wow great idea for those who don't have a machine. I have a one but stopped making for the grandkids because I didn't like the texture of the potatoes if you leave to crisp in oil it got a bitter burned tadte. By watching a few videos now I give that the best is, to make a runny batter with 1/4 cup Maizena (corn starch) 1/4 cup all purpose flour and 1/2 cup water seasoned with salt, paprika or chili powder then to dip the spirals in it or drizzle over to cover spirals before frying. This ensures a crisp and nice colour fried Tornado Potato

Second method is to carve all around the skewered potato 🥔 from one end to the other. Yes I realised the video was off.. but I don’t recommend that method anyway.. its time consuming and not always good results. The first method is what I hv focused on . It gives great results at home.
