Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Carter, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.
As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler, Javi and their crews find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

i know its gonna have an entirely different feel to it than the original film, but I'm ok with that. it is its own thing trying to set its self apart from the original by incorporating modern Storm chasing sensibilities and modern social media influences, something that did not exist at the time of filming the Original film in 1995.

I know this is going to be a good movie because it was a good movie over a decade ago. I gotta say that I really wish Hollywood would go back to being more about the art of film. Writers and movie execs are so lazy and capitalistic. Just recycling the same movie plots over and over again to make a buck rather than taking a risk with something creative. I feel so bad for generations who didn't see movies in the 90s and earlier. The creativity today is just so non-existent.

what? that truck was a second generation 1995 Dodge Ram. it gets sucked up into an F5 at the end of the movie. the production team was supplied 5 Rams for the film which were 1500's and 2500's, the badges on the outside of the truck were fake and in some shots read 3500 V10 and in some 2500, the sounds for the truck were from a 5.9 Magnum. one of the 5 trucks was a prototype used for extensive damage to the truck. to my knowledge none of the supplied trucks were actual 3500 models as those were commonly equipped with rear Dually tires but it was possible to have the dually converted to single tires. the 2010 Ram seen in twisters is a proper 3500 with rear dual tires. from what I've seen they had two of them on set for filming.

The heavy promos is typically a red flag. The teaser alone had me skeptical that this wouldn't be another cult classic ruined by lazy & greedy Hollywood with the pc/social nonsense pushed into it; Mindless action with realism disappearing, like what's become of the fast & furious franchise.
