Man, AoL has always been my favorite. I fn loved the world-building in it so much. I was even kind of disappointed when they just straight rebooted the whole story in LttP rather than continue off AoL. I enjoyed LttP but they went with a whole different take on the world in Zelda and I've always missed the one they left behind... Hoverbat's remaster with the 2nd quest epilogue is the "more of this" I've been craving for decades. It was just so exquisitely perfect imo and every single addition he added was brilliant. And I love that he kept the original tileset style and just sort of elaborated on some of the maps without going overboard or trying to "fancy it up" or anything. It's a perfect remaster and I'm so glad Jerd came back to finish it and got to see the rest of it. 😊

Couldn't have said it any better. Eloquent and well-defined. One thing I'm still puzzled by though. What was that landlocked palace-entry looking tile directly above one of the earliest Villages close to the starting point? I don't recall Jared's 1st or 2nd Quest runs ever getting there. Unless I just didn't realize it somehow, twice.

Zelda 2 was my dad's favorite game and we played it a LOT when I was a kid. He's been dead 14 years now and I wish I could have showed him this. This is absolutely incredible and he would have ate it up

Glad to see you finish this. This romhack is absolutely amazing, and though I would have liked the new end game to not be locked behind new game plus, it's still an incredible update (minus that pillar puzzle before you get the mask. I swear, that took me like an hour to get past). And that chicken ending was icing on the cake. I wish I found that on my playthrough.

Im so glad you finished this masterpiece, and I had a blast the whole time. If you wanna have a similar experience (if a little more jank and fangamey), I really recommend the Zelda Classic quest Link and Zelda: Panoply of Calatia. It has a similar vibe, where it strives to preserve the look and feel of the NES games, while being a sequel to both. Anyway thank you so much for such a fun series!

The only problem with the randomizer is that it only randomizes item locations, where the randomizer for the original game randomizes the entire world map, as well as palace layouts & colors. It would be nice if Hoverbat updated the randomizer to include these options as well.

I can't express how I felt at that moment when I heard hoverbats default soundtrack play. He might still listen to it this video, but I don't think he will. While I love the Randomizer of this hack, my Second Quest did me DIRTY >_< . I am near the end of the Quest, and I STILL have not gotten the Red Fairy. All I have left to do, is the Great Palace, the whole end area, and whatever the Fairy gives you, for rescuing the Red Fairy.

Jared maybe you should try the sword and fairy franchise i can personally recommend the first game if you prefer turn based rpgs 6th if you would like something unique for the battles and 7th if you prefer action rpgs

Well, as long as you dont start bad talking on those who like KH fans simply for liking KH (i can understand when you bad talk on those who go on a tantrum as soon as someone mentions anything bad about KH), i see no problem in you telling your honest opinion about KH, especially with explainations on why you don't like KH. The problem is, the second he does, those people who throw a tantrum will come out in force. Fanbases like that are PETTY. Look at anyone who dared say Rick & Morty wasn't the most awesomest super smert show ever made. Or Star Wars fans any time a woman does anything but wear a slave outfit and get rescued. Or comic movie/TV show fans the second anything happens besides Spider-man or Batman, these days. They are VERY vocal and relentless, and Jared already had one trauma inducing incident with the worst side of the internet that almost cost him a career. Setting himself up for another, not top of his wish list.

Personally, I *loved* Kingdom Hearts 1, somewhat enjoyed Chain of Memories, and felt that KH2 was mostly filler, and at its worst when it wasn't. KH1 stands well on its own, but it's an incomplete story, because various plot threads are left unfinished. KH2 goes back and finishes some of those plot threads, but does so in a completely unsatisfying way, because the answers they give you conflict with a number of the clues from the first game. When I finished KH2, I realized that I'd have a better time with just the first game, and whatever head-canon explanations I could come up with to explain the loose threads, and ever since then, Kingdom Hearts has been *just* the first game to me. So I never felt even slightly tempted by any of the KH games since then, because I know they don't know what they're doing.

Because it's just immature badly written garbage. DS9 was great and I already said it when I was first seeing it. I gave STD a chance watching the whole first season. Also it is very clear from the creators that it doesn't resemble older Trek at all and they didn't want veteran writers. You can like it but expect criticism if you voice your opinion. I know all older shows well and liked them all. Some more, some just somewhat but STD was really painful with bad stories, changing Klingons and having a space messiah main character who isn't likable . The only interesting characters in S1 were Saru and the evil captain.

1:06:27 Ever since the 5-part [to-date] ID on Discovery documentary Quiet On Set came out with all of its disturbing revelations involving Dan Schneider where many since then have deemed him a creep or worse, and realize what I'm about to type/say, now, is a controversial opinion but being a kid of the '80s having been born in 1982 where one of my favorite sitcom/show of all-time is the Howard Hesseman led [may he R.I.P.!] Head of the Class, Schneider will always be "Dennis Blunden" to me from long before everything. The 5th season that was led by Billy Connelly w/ a new class was okay but no longer the same until its cancellation. That is to say of course I find it appalling and do not condone whatsoever he's done but rather I choose to maintain the innocent version of Dan Schneider to keep memory of that great program for what it was intact. I mean, technically, there are other actors/performers/personalities in the same boat who have done wrong later in their lives too w/o specifics where it's for the best to not taint a long regarded image of how something once was. Just my thoughts.
