Hey Guys, It may be a dumb question, but why is everybody saying that there's no split between physical and special but in the pokedex it tells you if the attack is physical or is it special. I do not understand and been trying to get into it.

Originally, that split was by type and not by individual move. For example, all ghost moves were special attacks. In Gen 3, that was changed to be a "per move" classification.

Because Smeargle’s stats aren’t great and also it only knows the move Sketch. Which means that if you want it to know any good moves, you’ll have to go out of your way to battle Pokémon with moves you want in order for Smeargle to sketch them permanently.
