About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra, London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I could see, you really appreciated the show, the intricate classical-structured "cinematic score" composition, the high level of musicianship of all band members, but most of all - the stellar vocals and charisma of Floor Jansen, our Dutch metal queen. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction (and your 2nd experience with this band as you said), it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). Floor is a native Dutchie (born, raised and educated). She‘s the leadsinger for a Finnish band but lives in Sweden. That‘s the European Union and open borders for you. The tv programme her rendition of Shallow was taken from was a Dutch tv show called ‘Beste Zangers’ (the English translation would be both ‘Best Singers’ and ‘Dear Singers’ at the same time).

I've known of Nightwish a long time but didn't really hit me until I saw this performance of G.L.S. That's when I finally "got it" so much great material over the years but I'm so glad Floor is with them now. The first time I heart you and I admire you. Your way of given comments is unique. You give all credits to the performers and show your admiration and your own emotions. Floor is Dutch and the third female vocalist of Nightwish. When she game in Nightwish, Nightwish changed a lot. The members of the band and Floor are very close and they have truly fun in playing. I am looking forward to other comment of you. As someone who has recently rediscovered Nightwish because of reaction channels after more than a decade away from their music, please let me say to you: yes, there will be a lot of people coming in to tell you what you should do, listen to or behave like when reacting, but don't let it get to you. Just do you and what you think is right, or you'll end up being one of a thousand copycat channels around. Having good content as far as vocal techniques go will sure help, but being yourself should take precedence. With that out of the way... Let me tell you how to do this (haha, just kidding). Now, seriously, the good thing about the reunion of Floor and Nightwish is that Tuomas, the main composer for the band, comes from a classical background as well, so their compositions have a lot of variety and that mix of classical elements with heavy metal also gives Floor a lot of room to experiment with several vocal qualities and techniques in order to match the songs' structure and atmosphere, giving vocal coaches and music teachers alike the opportunity to talk in depth about both aspects. If you keep on this path you'll be in for a treat. Cheers!

Tim Ackerman is the writers name... he has the curly hair that appears in this video to be a bit on the Auburn color side... The entire series is worth the watch.

Floor did the Rock Academy in Tilburg, two of her classmates ar E also very good. We have here in Netherland every year the top 2000 where we can choose our favourite song all-time. This year is her classmate Dany Vera number one with the song Roller-coaster above Queen with Bohemian Rapsody.

Floor has her 2nd voice Masterclass lesson today. She did some breathing exercises. 2yrs of opera training. Floor has been with a band since she was 17. This concert Floor was a year and a half after her burnout. The master class is on her KZbin Channel. She growls also. She went to the Rock Academy in the Netherlands. Floor is a highly sensitive person us fans found out.

Floor is what you get when you take someone with natural talent and pot then thru four years of rock academy, and then another two years at the conservatory studying classical singing and musical theater. And she was the lead singer in After Forever while doing it. She's a self confessed vocal nerd too, with the lungs of a deep see diver. Want to see her do "real" opera. At the 1:40 mark of this video, Floor does probably the most dramatic vocal transition in music, going from a death metal growl to an operatic head voice in the span of a single note. It's just a fancam video, so the quality is poor, nevertheless, we can hear what is going on.
