I'm a simple person. When I see a reaction to this Tullikamari gig I click so fast. This was shot in my hometown Tampere in December 2000. I was there. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Finally someone does this one. One of nightwish hidden gems I've always wanted to listen live in person, they haven't played it in decades.

I find it interesting that you stopped and fixated on 11:02 so strongly. Tarja's legato in this song at that timestamp is the exact same run that made me realize just *how* good she is. She's in the top 1% of best Singer's in the World, without a doubt.

Thank you for doing this reaction, such a great performance and you can't go wrong with Nightwish, Tarja and Tony. I just love this show, so raw and authentic and love Tarja's voice so hunting and magical, no one like her, your right this isn't easy to sing like that. The whole "Nightwish From Wishes to Eternity" concert is amazing. I don't think many people out there understand how hard it is to sing that way not alone for a whole concert and not damage your vocal cord. Awesome reaction thank you, always thumbs and a subscriber :)

I have seen almost all your Tarja videos and it's funny to see a lot people liking her a lot in this era when (nowdays) she has said she hates her own sound back in the '99 😂 ... She literally said she sounded like a potato and that's why people thought she was a mezzo. She studied chamber music in Germany and that changed it all, after that she tried to use a more contemporary technique. I remember when Once came out people were just disappointed because she didn't sound "operatic" anymore, even some said she lost her voice lol. What's interesting is that people critized her a lot for changing a lil bit her style back in 2004 and now they call her a not versatile singer.

Artists are their own worst critics. She knows now what she could do and what she was doing and is unhappy that she did not do more then. Whereas the fan base without her technichal knowledge just know we think the world of her and love to hear her sing. If she is happy, we are happy. Us being happy makes her happy and want to sing.

"she has said she hates her own sound back in the '99" That's interesting info. You probably won't read this late-to-the-party comment, but on the off chance you do, I'd be interested to know the source? Cheers from Amsterdam!

Ironically she was still "too operatic" to some people even during her Once days! I always thought that was funny considering she sounded very different from her early years. If they called Once too operatic then what would they think of this... What I didn't know though was that people also criticized her during Once for "not sounding operatic" 😂 What does operatic even mean anymore!! Let's just ditch that word altogether 😂

You've done Beauty And the beast , so now is time for Beauty OF the beast. It's a 10 minute masterpiece and one that unfortunately is not that well known to KZbin era Nightwish fans and newer fans in general. Edit : do the studio version please. There isn't a good quality live version as Nightwish didn't perform it a lot live due to the amount of samples and various sounds in the song that were hard to do live(at the time at least).

What a great song and what a great duet! Beautiful voices! This song is from Nightwish's first album. In the studio version, Tuomas himself sings the masculine part. I would like to suggest a cover that Tarja made of Rammstein's song "Ohne dich". The cover was extremely beautiful. It was recorded at a church in Wacken. Tarja is accompanied only by a piano, a cello and a violin.

I LOVE this song. Probably Nightwish's best. But OK, I approach it more from the composition. That intro where the theme as 15 beats instead of 16 but the drums don't care so you get 15 beats of the drums going 1 2 1 2 but then the rest skips a beat and the drums then seem to play 2 1 2 1 instead. Then transitioning in that long iv - V section before landing hard on the i. And the ending section is just so good. One thing that makes me prefer the album version is that this live version is a few BPMs faster. I feel the slower tempo works better.

So true! I've seen Tarja Turunen live in concert 3 times over the years (2012, 2016, 2020) and she was always phenomenal, with such a strong and dark voice, but at the same time so emotional in her delivery! All the best to you my friend! Cheers \m/ \m/

I still consider this to be the best NW concert even though they have done plenty of bigger shows and newer material and more versatile songs too with visual effects etc . In here all is pure and genuine and that is how they made their mark and got on the track and fame. Later came other elements which are nice and natural in a way...but still here the genuine NW and purity shines. Yes...Tony is unique too.

That’s how early this is as no Marko and Emppu is not playing his purple ESP EV1 that he always plays at least from Wacken 2013 could be a bit earlier though as that is what I have been into NW from so do not know for sure. I will add that so as I don’t get trolled probably still will! Love NW in whatever form it is. I don’t compare singers as they all have their own style and whether you like one and not another it’s all still NW ❤️🤘🇦🇺

Emppu has not much played his white guitar on stage since , End of an era . There are also the versions with Tapio Wilska as male vocalist , on Nightwish songs , 10th man down , Pharaoh sails to Orion and Devil & the deep dark ocean , both Tarja and Floor have performed with him . Tarja Turunen has concert in Savonlinna in Olavinlinna 21 august 2021 , they sell tickets already , but cant find info what type of concert it is , does she do opera or rock ? But when there are VIP tables on front row with service and rest concert visitors have buffet option ... really dont sound as a rock concert .

Most Chinese opera voice types don't rely on too big a cavity, so less resonance, but the sound is just very focused and has that similar traveling ring to it (Starting to tout my limited knowledge on the subject matter)

Just Jen Reacts pokes at me for adoring Tony. Life by Sonata Arctica changed my life. I was guided to Tony and the Wolfpack and after hearing Life I just love that band. I was in a bad way but after watching the video for Life and listening to the words, I was like ok I need to start living. Tony is so freaking humble even about being knighted. You don't get men like Tony and Tuomas these days so I say treasure these 2 awesome men sincerely.

Tony Kakko was indeed awarded the Order of The Finnish Lion by the President by the request of the Keminmaa Municipality. These orders are quite common and are a way to acknowledge a person for his accomplishments in society. However it is not the highest ranking order but all the same it was a lovely gesture to show appreciation for Tony. People in the Rock and Roll -business rarely get. In Finland (being a republic) nobody is knighted.
