Omfg I remember many aspects of the second season being inferior to the first, but what I didn't remember until now was how bad the music direction was. Urrrgghh.... what, do they think they are being hip and edgy with this new-fangled techno-tronic...a that all the young kids are listening to? So terrible. Every time it came on, I cringed.

Yeah, producers put them under pressure to be more "gripping" like 24 and other perpetual cliffhanger series. It's too bad.

@@twitchinstereo NBC execs pushed Boomtown producers into going with this format to ultimately kill the show. Fans of the first season pushed and lobbied for the second season, and all we got was slapped in the face by NBC

its nice 2c a continuation after 'storm watch' finally they found those2 who killed their friendlies. omg! just caught up. &btw once again, i thought ray wouldve dealt w/selfishness by now. hes still a jerk. hes the only charac i hate more now. &ofc we never knew who killed them, but have to admit. didnt c it been 2 women thieves who got tipped off by d/PDs mole.

There was always an element of cheesiness to Boomtown, but at this point in the show's life it was suffering from a bunch of executive meddling. It was running against shows like 24 at the time, and they felt the need to move away from charming compartmentalized stories to WHOA CONSPIRACY BIG FISH stuff.
