I think people don’t realize Wizkid does a different type of songwriting. A parallel I can draw is in Hip-Hop, you have people who are not MCs nor Rappers but they know how to manoeuvre a track and that’s what Wizkid does well. He’s what we call a “spitter” in the sense that his lyrics don’t need to profound ( even though Wizkid does release some profound lyrics) in order for you to enjoy the track. That takes a specific type of skills to hone and for some reason people underrate that.
