That's a known, actual phenomenon in psychology. It's called the Gell-man amnesia effect. Michael Crichton described it as "You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. [...] you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know." Yes. It's been a known thing long enough that somebody was commenting about it when newspapers were peoples' main source of news information.

I started as a fanfiction writer, being fairly well-known in the RWBY community (DMenace on FFN and AO3), and before I move onto other types of videos, I thought it best to get comfortable in front of a mic and the editing process by first narrating some of my favorite creepy pastas. My son is nonverbal autistic, and he is only two years old. he used to have 4 to 5 different therapy as we would go to. He only has one in the past couple of months. He has grown so much because of the help of the insurance that my girlfriend has and because of the doctors that I don’t know all the ins and outs cause I came in later into his life. But he uses a tablet. He can feed himself most of the time. But it’s all thanks the actual awareness for autism.. thank you guys for everything your podcast every week and videos from each of ya and I’ve leaned a lot

53:25 The car probably had 1983 - 1984 Cadillac rims. Referred to as "Swingers". These rims are usually wrapped in Vogue Tyres. It's also a Huston thing to have paint jobs with as many as 12 to 15 coats of paint. When done right, you can stand a ruler on end, and read the 12 inch mark on the other end. Having a shine that is a foot deep.

Huge shout out to kingtrout stepping up!!! You young kids will learn that IT IS OK TO SHED A TEAR AND CRY even in public especially when these men have helped soo many people in soo many ways without knowing sometimes, hell I've seen eli on reddit helping a guy(I think a couple guys different times) that was pretty much giving his final statement farewell message and eli reached out and gave nothing but love and support..shit had me in tears. These are good guys with big hearts and in return helps heal us broken fucks weather it military vets or civilians with trauma. It's OK to cry guys lol

I started doing youtube videos again to give myself something to take pride in in my life. Your unapologetic stances on your views and standing for what you believe in no matter what has helped to shape me in to a better person and American. I don't have much of a following but I've got a handful of Europeans and Canadians in my community I've been helping to teach about our freedoms and what everything means. I feel like I'm making a difference and hope I can even make one person's life a little better. Thank you for always making me laugh, I hope one day I get to have the opportunity to shake your hands. God bless

Dallas show was an absolute blast. Boyfriend and I drove from Ward, AR to attend. Eli's dad was right behind me. Security tried asking them to leave for not having VIP bands but we weren't letting that happen. It was wonderful meeting everyone and would love to do it again.

I have a 2nd hand story about Bud Dwyer for ya.. When I worked graveyard at a convenience store, i had a regular customer that would tell old stories, and this is the one that stuck with me. As he tells it, he was in middle school watching live with his history class when Bud decided to taste the rainbow.. Before that moment, the teacher thought it would be a good lesson in how politics works.. a few days later he's at school passing out "Bud Dwyer Commemorative Coins", the teacher catches wind of this and asks him for one, to which he places a washer in her hand. As it turns out, and he didn't find out until after being sent to the principal's office, that his history teacher was Bud Dwyer's niece.

51:00 only time we had to do that was when it was storming from a small hurricane and we could not see a car 5 yards in front of us if they didn’t have their hazards on
@Incognito17869 ай бұрын
51:04 -> I have seen someone put their hazards on for rain. It was towards the end of a category 3 or 4 hurricane. You couldn't see more than 2 feet in front of you and there were 5 vehicles, driving down the middle of the highway because the local police blocked off access to their city (due to severe flooding), so we had to go around the long way. I was 2 hours late getting to work that day.

51:00 its a visibility assist, at least in PA people only use them when rain rates go over an in per hour. At highway speeds your visibility drops to really really low. Hazards help not get rear ended

Thanks for what you all do. This show has helped a lot with non combat nostalgia. 😂 Great line and needs to be a shirt. Seriously the dark humor is something most people are unaware how much it helps to laugh at the dark shit you have been through and "polite society" will typically look like deer in headlights if you make a dark joke. This is a show I've found humor and peace in. I've recommended this show to multiple first responder buddys and combat vets. Its funny when we all carry some dark shit but we can all laugh about ridiculous things and you all embody that dark humor while also showing support to those struggling in the moment. I've taken more 3am phone calls than i care to remember because these dudes knew that they weren't alone and taking the self checkout lane wasn't their only option. Some guys i never would have guessed hours prior they were in such a dark place. I would get home and get a call. One dude i knew and pulled him aside. He had given his watch and some other personal items away to friends earlier in the night. I knew he was at the end of his rope. We ended up talking like 4-5 hours and he was going to follow through that night when he left. He said he wanted everyone to remember him laughing and having a good time. He is doing much better now but that night was very close to him giving up. Anyone who has read this far. You're not alone. Pick up the phone. You have people who care.
@Hennesseycation9 ай бұрын
When Nick challenges Tony's social media team all I hear is him talking in Banes voice. " Ah you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!" Only the darkness is shit talking and dropping historical facts.

Usually I'm not really into "X month" but Autism is such a widespread problem for so many people (I more so mean the lack of help they get) that I think it's one of the months that actually does deserve a whole month.

That car you saw was called a Slab. It is a Houston thing and there are A LOT more in Houston. It's sorta like donks but instead of losing money from the increases gas mileage and the expensive rims, you lose money from carving up the sides of peoples cars and replacing your chrome dipped lemon juicers when you snap a spoke
