I'm not that personally worried about covid at this point, but I just want to give love & respect to the lady who wants to know how to protect herself from covid while she serves as a poll worker. That actually brought a tear to my eye. If you're reading this, Linda, thank you for your service! 💙

FYI I'm 83 now. I have had flu vaccines every year in late September or early October every single year as long as it has been offered by my HMO. I have diabetes and asthma, high blood pressure and my age is a factor. This is a sample of one, but I do not get influenza. I go shopping every week at a busy grocery store and go to my local farmer's market that is quite busy Spring through Autumn. My family visits and my caregiver moves from home to home six days a week and has exposed me to covid which I did not get because I am throughly vaccinated for that too. I live in a huge complex of apartments and density for over a mile all around is very high so opportunities for infection are high too. When influenza has raged through our apartment complex I have not been infected. I am an advocate for vaccinations, not only because it works for me, but also because it will work for you. These days I mask at the grocery, but not at the outdoor farmer's market. I wash hands fairly often but not incessantly. I also keep current with all other vaccines. Why can't others be as diligent?

Asymptomatic
@helengarrett6378Ай бұрын
No, healthy. Probably not asymptomatic. Cautious and properly protected. My first and only case of Delta (probably) covid almost did me in. My blood oxygen dropped into the upper 80's, especially when I had to use the bathroom or eat. It lasted more than 2 weeks. It was 3 weeks until I could change my sheets. I think I would know if I was a little "off." That covid infection scared me so badly that I'm very cautious now. I plan boosters for the holidays so I can see my family for special occasions. My kids have had it two or three times each because they socialize much more and will not mask now. But they keep current on boosters and vaccines too. The covid boosters don't keep my kids from getting infections but they keep them out of the hospital in middle age, one having diabetes and the other asthma. They have had paxlovid for the more recent infections and did well with it, no need for a second round of it. Use common sense and keep informed from reputable sources like the AMA and TWIV on YT.

I don’t know if I have this just right, but it’s close: Perturbations in motion of Uranus (FACT) didn’t fit the theories developed at the time (Newton and, I think, Kepler). The laws (THEORIES) certainly weren’t thrown away. The fact was shelved until an explanation for it could be found. Eventually, the fact was integrated into the theories with the discovery of Neptune. So, let’s not be too simplistic. Naturalistic inquiry advances with good logic, open minds, and willingness to be puzzled by the apparently simple or obvious. 😍

Unlikely to be COVID-19. Perhaps you should get a LFT.
@beckyconstantinides2546Ай бұрын
@@christopherrobinson7541 what is LFT?

It's all COVID related. COVID is so rampant and constantly mutating we'll probably never have a mild common cold like we did before 2019

What happened to the TWiV audio quality lately? Why are episodes so super quiet? This is, after all, an audio format (at least that's how it started and how I still consume it), so please go back to the former good quality we had been used to. Much appreciated.
