@@OctopusWreckerr hot spot is not cheap gentleman, you get limited data. You will only be able to play minutes per week. How is that even worth it? After a few s3ssions you down till data reset 27 days later lol. Res3arch, for real gamers, gaming on the road not worth it. Now you want play for 30 minutes lagging your ass off everyone see you before you see them. Then have at it. LoL

No ideal plus AT&T is good about as you run out of data they don't slow you down. They put you in order on tower due to how much data you use. Major city's you are good because people use ton of data. In small areas not many people on the tower

For anyone thinking about using T-Mobiles home internet for this: I have read the terms on T-Mobiles Home internet. It is a violation of those terms to use the internet outside of the service address. HOWEVER! The business version of this plan has a stipulation that states capped data may be used at multiple sites, only the unlimited plan has the fixed address restriction. T-Mobile has a $70 Business Internet plan that comes with 300GB of data per month. If you're just gaming and not downloading a ton of stuff/watchign everything in 4K? You won't use all that data. Games actually take up very little data when played. The real data drain comes when those games try to pull update, as some of these updates can be massive. Save those updates for the truckstop wifi.

AT&T now has 40GB/$75 a month or 25GB/$50 a month. I haven't tried playing laptop games or Xbox on the road yet, but that seems like hardly enough data. I have unlimited through Verizon and probably going to get the Nighthawk but I'm sure I will need more data than 40GB

Hey brotha I got the pro and works pretty well….I had to get one since I’m going back over the road been using it for the past week I have 3 devices running on it …it’s stays connected there is some places the wifi cuts out but that just due to AT&T service but it comes back quick …….it does heat up quick so I leave it on the floor in the back by the sleeper a/c …..the battery last for a cool min but ut last longer when I keep it from getting hot…….100gb for $90 AT&T Cons: it gets hot quick and kills the battery quicker. , kinda pricey $546.89 Overall: I’ll suggest it to anyone needing traveling wifi I’m wait a few months then try to use T-Mobile to see the difference of performance

Great video sir! I spend 20 days out of the month working out of town on a frac pad in WV and I'm losing faith in finding any kind of hotspot router data plan (let alone internet) for me when I'm working in a valley between steep terrain or trying to game back at the hotel. I've been looking around for a month now on what to do but if I decide to go through AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile and get the "Unlimited" plan, they will just cap my high speed to 20-30 GB then leave me with 400kb upload/download speed for the rest of the month. I'm a pc gamer unfortunately and I know I'm gonna blow through 30 GBs in the first couple days if I install a new game and play at 120 fps at crisp graphic settings. So after looking through threads and other videos I've been seeing rates at like 100 GB a month high-speed uncapped for about $250-300 (not including the hot spot device) with independent companies who have some kind of deal and use AT&T, Verizon, & T-Mobile's coverage. It was mainly like a rate per GB you prepaid for at the beginning of the month. All I see is dollar signs my man and on top of that it all seems a little skeptical so I think I'll wait for Starlink and suffer with hotel internet at 400 kb/s speed until I hear of something fast and affordable.

I am a really competitive gamer / twitch streamer. I have been driving semi trucks for 6 years. I just got a really nice gaming laptop to be able to continue my gaming on the truck. I am home every 2-3 days. This video was awesome I have known about this device for a long time just wanted to see a trucker who had an opinion and I couldn't find anything. Huge difference between Xbox connection and pc connection though. I have brought my son on the truck with his Xbox one and he has no issues playing his online games on my phones mobile hotspot. How do you think it will be for pc gamers that rely on great ping and latency?

You have to portforward it. It's super complicated but look up videos on port forwarding for the console you have.

I could definitely get by and game on that, watch stuff on my phone and download updates/games on work/truckstop WiFi, but 50 won’t let me do much more than game and just essential game updates. Going to try the nomad internet travel router since it’s unlimited and uncapped and if it’s sucks I’ll settle for 50gb at at&t
