Great video! I am a type 9 who has my own business. Not going to say it wasn't kind of rough in the beginning. But with persistence I have my own thriving business. I really had to establish routines that work for me in the business. I think what motivated me was the lack of Harmony that always seems to happen every time I worked for someone else. I couldn't stand all the chaos and disharmony that seemed to happen when I work for someone. Now that I work for just me and my clients, and it's nice and peaceful.

That's great. I also don't want to work for others and eventually find ways to make money (that I actually like).

Haha. I’m a 9. My daughter is a 9. Just last night after listening to my husband trying to encourage my daughter start her own business (for the 10th time) as a baker, I told him, “who do you think we are?? I always think to myself “never gonna happen!!” I watch these people on Shark Tank and think “I WOULD NEVER WANT TO DO THAT!!” They risk everything, go into dept and hope for the best. Haha! I do admire each of them but sheesh!! Wouldn’t be me!

@Madame d'Badger Aww this made me say, “SAME”. I hear you. I hope you and your husband can walk in harmony through life, understanding each other’s personalities 💗 My husband is also a 1 and cracks us up! I hope that what I typed, came across as I was thinking it. Trying to be funny by saying, who do you think we are-8’s or something🤣 My daughter and I definitely like to play it safe but know where we need to stretch ourselves. Thank you for your encouraging words and I hope you have a perfect job that fits your 9ness 🤗

Move toward the blurry future! Change from frustration Take your own voice seriously 9 - Just tell me what to do. 8 - Don’t tell me what to do.

Tom, as a 6w7 (and believer most importantly) I love your stuff. I’ve read most of the books u reference and am sensitive to new age bs. You bring the balance I crave as the enneagram is powerful in helping me renew my mind in light of all the noise out there.

I’m a sexual 8w7. But I often find being around 9s as very comforting. 9s are especially good at calming me down when I’m about to explode, usually just by being there and listening to me. I’m trying to learn how to help them get in tough with their anger. It’s infuriating 😅

What would you say to a type nine about this sort of bravery and leaning into discomfort when their type exists alongside ADHD and rejection sensitivity?

You're limiting yourself with those words and creating a mental and emotional cage for yourself.

@@ogeo.8966 I appreciate your well-intentioned response. However, I believe the cage existed long before I knew what the bars were named.
