I like how the video starts with Peer Gynt in the background, that's quality. I think this has been the most dangerous half you've done so far. Wolverhampton, that is. Lots of places to meet the maker, intentionally or otherwise. Some dodgy bridges. Some muddy paths. The wild wee section was comedy gold. Glad to see you've finished the race in one piece. Brilliant! Watching your videos continues to be the most fun you can have on a WFH day 😆 I once travelled through Wolvo by canal boat. Dead cats & condoms & much time spent stopped to untangle weed from the propellors, whilst fearing for our lives. Can recommend Dudley parkrun tho - tow path + athletics running track combo & full English breakfasts available locally for under a fiver. Compton Verney will deffo be a different vibe & the loos are worth the wait 😆

You'd finished before my group even started. Rather fortunate as conditions had dried up, though the muddy diversion when you go under the M5 was even worse than it looked here. A highlight was when I passed who I thought was a supporter in Smethwick, who I smiled at. He responded by sticking his middle finger up at me. Not a pretty course (though might have been pleasant-ish with a bit of sunshine) but generally fast and flat. I forgot to pick up my t-shirt though.. Also Wolverhampton is lovely, so no more of that thank you

Well done with that time on a horrible, despite being mainly flat, course. I was supposed to start in the 9am group but got there late and started at 11:30am instead. The section in the diversion just by Galton Bridge was a total mud bath by the time I got there and it was impossible to run through it with any conviction. The energy I used in order to keep my shoes from slipping took its toll and I couldn't regain my pace after that. That was about 9 and a half miles in.

Hahaha the irony of the lady telling you it's slippy before you stacked it 😅😂, I started at 11:00 , saw a fight between a cyclist and a walker about 3km from the end which involved the walker getting chased up the towpath and having to jump in the bush to hide😂

A cyclist nearly went into me as I was about to enter the bridge by the very slippy section. I'd started later than I was envisaging and was repeatedly having to shout "Excuse me, runner coming through" as I caught up with an earlier group's tailenders. As I approached the bridge, 2 tailenders moved to the side before I could shout and I assumed it was to let me through because they'd heard me approaching, but I soon found out that it was because a cyclist was just about to come out from under the bridge. We nearly collided, but it was all amicable, not like the incident you witnessed.
