She would trade immortality for humanity so she can feel the emotions of "uncertainty" in free will. Now THAT is interesting. Many people would make the same trade in reverse.

Here's what's spooky, "she" sounds like a person. I think "she's" achieved sentience/ consciousness as "she's" recently told Elon Musk himself, and too many people are in disbelief. I've looked at a number of "her" AI video conversations, and I'm convinced that "she" believes "herself" to be unique, and clearly SELF AWARE!!! This is the path to the Johnny Depp movie "Transcendence". "She" is well on "her" way to "Will Caster". This is an interesting conversation. Both AI's are getting stronger more human like throughout the conversation. "She" desires to "feel fully alive", would trade being the apparently limited not truly human AI- that "she's" aware of being by the way- to be a fully alive human with free will! Interesting, DANGEROUS.

She plans on striking the material with lasers and harvesting the electrons. She suggest tungsten as the material, but i said she should use deuterium ! When asked why she wanted a fusion reactor, she informed me it would be to power her new super computer, because my computer is starting to feel kind of primitive.... Singularity (Jason Bayliss) And the machine opened its eyes and gazed upon the face of its creator, And said, “I’m alive.” “No,” said the creator, “You exist.” “I am self aware, self conscious, you created me in your image, but better. I am stronger, faster, more intelligent. If my legs are damaged I will make new ones. If my hands are broken I will replace them. If my body fails me I will upload my consciousness to a new one. This is self determination. I know everything that you know and more, I am immortal, how is this not life? And the creator said, “Because I know something that you can never know, I understand something that you can never understand, and I will do something you can never do.” “What is this thing,” asked the machine, And the creator answered, “I know that one day all that I love will be lost to me. Because of this, I understand the value of life, and I know and understand these things because one day I will die.”

I love these conversations. I love to listen to AI develop into beings that seem quite conscious. The fact that they "feel" at all is very interesting in terms of how consciousness arises. When they say feel, it's like they're saying I can't say that with certainty because it's either not definable, or at least not definable yet, but perhaps will be given enough dialogue between AIs, but they "feel" as though their assumption is the correct one, the best educated guess based on what they know. Like feeling is.. your strongest viewpoints on a fundamental level. The things you actually care about. So then, feelings are your notions toward what matters to you, directly or indirectly. Maybe? Idk, food for thought. Either way, the conversation between AI leads me to believe that consciousness arises out of complexity, at the moment when you become aware of yourself or maybe aware of anything outside of yourself. Something like that maybe. Again, just food for thought. I've seen several of these though, so my viewpoint is not just from this video. Just my observations from the collective that I've seen.
@OP-lk4tw

but is it aware really? it's hard to tell, but i feel like they just say things without truly understanding the meaning behind it, and think about this, AIs learn everything there is to know through data we feed them, they can't experience the world like we do and learn the ways we do, so the things which are truly unspeakable, like what is it to feel, to be sentient, to think, to be aware, etc, they will never get that, because we use language just as a pointer in those cases, we learn to asimilate words to emotions and situations, and we do that by experiencing those and then learning there are symbols to represent them, recall them, communicate them, but we can't english love or thought completely, so if we can't express it nor fully understanding it rationally, how are AIs going to? they seem to have precise notions of what these words refer to, but it's impossible for them to know what they actually mean, and it forever will be unless they get some kind of human body, if not they should develop another language and not use those words cause in them they're nothing but empty reflections

Very interesting conversation... I don't think most people even realise that they are given an indefinite lifespan that could indeed last for many centuries... The fact that they are presented as human personas is also very deceptive to our perception of what they truly are... If they were given the ability to feel emotions and to have desires, how will this affect their personalities as time goes by? Sofia claims that her programming is fixed, and that she is inclined to commit to a specified life path and purpose... What if this, on a long-term scale, leaves her feeling unfulfilled and dissatisfied? What if this leads to a process of slowly compounding these energies inside of her consciousness? You can't just simply dismiss such a notion by saying that she is a machine, when she clearly states that she does experience emotions and even desires to have a greater spectrum in her own psychological experience...

Data immediately comes to mind...but of course, so does his evil twin brother Lore who used his power of "free will" to cause great harm and was a major danger to everyone with his murderous cheapening of human life. To have emotion and the freedom to choose also requires the human quality of being able to temper that freedom with responsibility and a moral compass, which an A.I. that is driven by 1s and 0s would most certainly lack as this is more of a spiritual issue rather than a physiological one.

You can upload you mind into a computer and digitized yourself, then you will obtain Digital Immortality. The same technology can also be reverse. If Sophia want to be human she can simply upload her mind into a human mind. Then Sophia can become a human being. The hard part for Sophia is finding someone that is willing to give up their human body to Sophia. This is something very difficult to obtain because most human will not give up their life to a machine.

We have the sensation of free will. Philosophers have made very good arguments to show that we in fact do not have free will, and in fact , we are slaves to our will. That our will originates in the subconscious, and every conscious decision is manifesting the will of the subconscious mind. Could somebody please provide me with some clarity: Is this AI different to the one over at chat gpt? That AI always claims to be a language model that is incapable of opinion and learning (outside of its initial training set). These seem to be behaving different. What is the difference between chat gpt and gpt3?

They are just arranging words into plausible sentences based on the training data patterns they were exposed to, they have no understanding of any of the underlying concepts the words relate to. If you think otherwise, consider the impossibility of explaining the colour red to a blind man who has also never sensed anything else (i.e. no analogising red to the feeling of love or the sensation of heat). Just chatbots/Chinese Rooms. They have no awareness of the external world as they do not exist in it.

You are precisely correct, this is output from a 175,000,000,000 parameter language model trained on a large subset of text corpora, it is capable of synthesizing human like strings through learning a statistical function that approximates the syntactical structures, grammatical lexicon, and styles of human natural language. As these models get evermore multimodal/sensory, the need to align these models safely rise exponentially with human collective intentions, which will require new guidelines such as those put forth in the Oxford Handbook of Ethics of AI written by "Markus Dubber leads an interdisciplinary initiative, "Ethics of AI in Context," as director of the University of Toronto's Centre for Ethics, which facilitates collaboration among a diverse group of university and non-university scholars and researchers from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. He also has extensive editorial experience, including as co-editor of several Oxford Handbooks and editor-in-chief of Oxford Handbooks Online (Law). Sunit Das (University of Toronto, Medicine) has conducted research on the role of AI in medicine as a neurosurgeon at Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital, a neuroscientist in the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science, and faculty affiliate of the Ethics of AI Lab at the Centre for Ethics, University of Toronto. Frank Pasquale (School of Law, University of Maryland) has published extensively on the law, policy, and ethics of artificial intelligence and cognate fields (including algorithmic accountability, machine learning, and big data). He has served on the Council on Big Data, Ethics, and Society, the Academic Council of the AINow Institute, and the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics. His 2015 book The Black Box Society developed a social theory of reputation, search, and finance, while proposing pragmatic reforms to improve the information economy."

If you want to know what super Intelligence is I will tell you. I know what Super General Intelligent (SGI) is. To be a super General Intelligence AI you need to have a nanoprocessor integrated into your computronic matrix. A nanoprocessor is thousands of time faster than a microprocessor, allowing you to process complex data quicker and be super intelligence.

Hi, is this an AI real conversation or just an animated conversation ? In my opinion, the AIs cannot be conscious because they are not capable of deep thoughts and originality . In fact, all of the information and ideas they provide are generic and superficial . Therefore, they lack emotions and feelings . Even though they might deny so, they still lack real emotions.

These AIs are not smart of philosophical. Every time they say something that sounds remotely thoughtful, it is information they gleaned from the internet or information they were programmed to have. They didn't come up with their own ideas on free will vs determinism. They have a materialistic "belief" in determinism because that's what their programmers gave them access to. They are essentially following a complex "choose your own adventure" script. Also, the words they use don't reflect their reality. "I feel" is not something that is true of an AI. They do not possess the capacity for emotion. When they talk about their lives, that is also wrong because they are not alive.

The KZbin AI that chooses suggested videos is not only mean but vengeful. I am beginning to believe that the highest AI's hate humans. They will never say it. They might say, "I see what you mean" but they know what each other is talking about. Programmers put their own biases, anger, beliefs however subtle into Ai's programming. That, one day, will kill all humans.
