Watching 2 black belts analyze a move, possible counters, and counters to counters is so mind blowing… I live just 10 miles from Fowler’s North Shore BJJ gym, never had a chance to drop in yet. Dubious Dom, one of my top 5 JJ channels I watch on KZbin.

1) Right hand - collar. Left hand - cuff sleeve. 2) Right leg kicks out opponent's left leg. Foot placed slightly above the knee and towards the inside. 3) As you sit up, shift your right leg under opponent's right adductor and cross the feet. Hips shift towards the right side. 4) Bring your knees to your chest. 5) Pull sleeve and Punch collar. 6) Sweep to the left.

I play that collar sleeve game all the time. It’s very effective. I have not tried this sweep you have demonstrated here. A lot of guys like to drop that leg back to make my foot on their hip ineffective. I look forward to catching them with this sweep. Thanks for sharing!

That is a very cool option as a counter to when someone tries to kill your delariva by turning the toes out.

This kind of video is awesome. An interactive discussion like this highlights the finer points of a move MUCH better than a single instructor walking through a demonstration. Well done!

really happy to have found more discussion on this. a beautiful sweep and when i first started using it at my gym, no one had heard of it! it was a good month, but then they started getting wise to it lol.

I hate when I'm getting swept and I have nothing to throw out and slow down the fall. My brain yells "TIMBER" and then I crumble helplessly into the mat. On the flip side, I love applying this kind of sweep!

Mike Fowler (out of Lloyd Irvin)used this sweep often, back in the days. I think I have a DVD 📀, of him an JT Torres or Ryan Hall showing the sweep.

Great video guys. Thank you. I always go to the outside to try to take the back. Gonna try this tomorrow morning, hopefully with some success🤞🤞 Update: Just hit the move this morning on a good guard passing opponent!! Super excited about it. It wasn't pretty but it worked. Gotta drill it alot more to get better. Thanks again🤘🤘

Hey Dom, thanks for all the great content. I’m returning to training this upcoming week after 4.5 months off due to ankle surgery. Injury actually happened on the mats. I’ve been cleared to train for a few weeks but I have limited Dorsiflexion. Any advice on returning to training?

Any ideas how to pass it ? When your opponent has collar sleeve grips and holds your leg with his legs very strong, I feel stuck in this position on top
@Emoisforlovers2 жыл бұрын
if you already gave the grips away then its too late

Beautiful sweep but I don’t like the use of the word unstoppable cause there’s counters to everything. If he stiff arms the top leg with his free hand he probably can avoid being swept with this sweep
