In our first ever feature Episode, we collect three new performance C Class AMGs: The C63S Wagon, the AMG C43 and the C63S Cabriolet. But instead of doing separate reviews, the cars battle against each other in a drag race, exhaust sound battle, and track handling run to decide which is the best AMG daily!

Enjoyed that! I know the concept of RBR is to dispel any preconceived ideas/preconceptions about a car, but I’ll hold my hands up and admit I had those about the C43 before watching this. It’s certainly changed my mind

A great video chaps...I watched because I have a C43 Cab and have been thinking of swapping to a C63s Cab as I feel I "need" more power...but was undecided for everyday driving, and I know the C63 can be very unruly if not treated with a lot of respect.......so all things being equal, and despite the lack of name badge and the outright power that I am used to (I chopped an SL65 in for this C43) as a "sensible AMG" and an overall every day driving car, I think the C43 is the way to go and I have now decided to keep mine. I do not "need" all that extra power, I have saved about £20k Capex and probably £2k-£2.5k per year in additional bills (Tyres/Juice/Insurance/Service/RoadTax)...and that ignores the extra depreciation...Many thanks :-)

I've had my c43 Cabriolet for near 1000 miles and have had it up to Angeles Crest. If you want the better sports car with the benefits of AWD, this is the car. I wanted to prefer the C63, but it's just always struggling to put power down and feels less confident on a road course. I don't care about "real AMG's" because that's just not meaningful, beyond bragging rights. Mercedes decides what a AMG is, not the consumer. The better rounded car is the C43 until they bring the fantastic 4matic system to the C63, which is crippled without it.

@@BRMONEY225 I just traded up to a loaded 2019 C43 cabriolet from my 2018. Before I did it, I tested the C63s. And once again, the C63 feels less agile, heavier and less confident on the twisty roads. The C63 reminds me of my Hellcat Charger, though it handles much better, it feels less balanced than the C43. But the C43 is like a luxury version of a Evo X or Subaru STI and just more of the drivers car. There's no escaping the benefits of the beautifully tune 4matic system, which still provided the feel of RWD, yet retains the sharpness of AWD. Now...if you drive open roads most of the time, the C63 series makes some real sense because the midrange power advantage is easily felt. But...if you drive those mountain or twisty backroads, it's the C43 all day long. That all said, BOTH are great cars. Note to new 2019/2020 buyers: The new C63 and C43 PE exhausts are not as loud as 2017-2018, though they still sound very nice. Changes were made to the exhausts and transmissions in sport+mode.

As a 2020 Track Pace c43 owner, I swear I was destined on the c63 until I drove it. Don't get me wrong the V8 is a whole beast of it's own, but just because a car is more expensive doesn't make it better. This is indeed a proper AMG.

Love my C43. At 29 I can't afford a C63 and i need the awd anyways for winter in Canada, so it's the best compromise.

It’s not a compromise, if you pick the C63s then it’s a compromise, I chose the C43 even though I can afford the C63 , money is NOT an issue at all , and I love my C43 for many reasons, handling in all conditions, smoking C63 on red lights, the exhaust note.....

The performance exhaust is a stock exhaust with valves which is a factory option but you'd struggle to find one without!

Brian Westfield I usually take in my moms Mercedes for service, they do have things like bags and hats for sale. It’s a small dealership though. A big BMW dealership nearby does sell shirts and all kinds of shit. I live in Florida though in the U.S so I don’t know if it’s the same where ever you are located

nice,brand new cars with no miles on the clock being drag raced or are they approved used that have already been run in. you should retry the drag race in the current weather. the 63s will do it in around 4.2 or 4.3 secs

Well I’m looking to saving up for either a c43, because I love the 4matic or a older c63. I feel like acceleration would be quicker on the 43, and with some tuning it would be faster than a 63 for sure. And maintenance costs would be cheaper on the 43 as well I’m assuming. For some reason I’m just drawn to the 43 because that v6 sounds amazing in its own way, and the transmission and 4matic are both advantages as well

gamersetc. C43 sorry. AMR performance has an ecu tune that will give it an additional 130 hp and 180tq to the wheels. I live near CT so I'm driving down there to get a pre and a post tune dyno. I wanted to C63 originally but I saved about 20k and only need a tune for the C43 to be faster and more useful in the crappy New England weather lol

@@wlchan0916 I’m a C43 owner, I am GP in Australia and trust me, I can afford all the AMG line in including S65 V12, I chose the AMG C43, money is not an issue, the C63 is a small dick syndrome kind of person hey everyone I have a V8 blah blah blah If after this video you are not convinced that the C43 is a proper AMG regardless of one person one engine (mind you now there 3 females joined the team) big deal And guess what, I just ordered another AMG A45S 4 cylinder engine and can smoke any C63s Grow up Yaris boy
