I live near the place, and I traveled many times the highway in front of the airport. Your report is the most complete I found on the internet, congratulations for putting together facts, eyewitness reports and the tv broadcast. The animation was very good, the mountains and the terrain images are perfect.

Nice 😎👍 Côte D'Azores love the pronunciation (and the fairly obscure/not particularly deadly collection of accidents)

I don’t know about the video offending my sensibilities, but it certainly offended my hearing! What was that high pitched whine throughout the reporting of the live incident?

@@aviationinvestigationchannel no problem 😊. Just wondered what it was. This is a great channel! I’ve just discovered it and I think it’s up there with the best aviation accident videos. It must be fairly new so can only get even better - keep up the hard work!

It amazes me how some pilots will attempt a bad landing rather than simply going around. They should have gone around before they even got near the runway threshold.

@@aviationinvestigationchannel They have an awkward term for that in flight, called "get-there-itis". It should have a better name but it makes the point.

My thoughts go to the possibility an experienced training pilot was too full of himself to admit he’d botched the circling approach, and afraid to admit he couldn’t salvage the mess. A *properly executed* go-around is always more preferable to an unstable approach down to the runway. Bad go-arounds do happen. It’s often because the pilots fly too far into the landing and execute too late, or they haven’t briefed a go-around and so they and the plane aren’t prepared for it, or they haven’t practiced/trained go-arounds enough. It’s demanding, an extremely heavy workload with the pilot hand-flying the aircraft very slow and very close to the ground with flight parameters almost down to the point where the plane will drop out of the sky. And it comes at a time when the pilots were expecting to be on the ground and takes a major shift in flying focus. So it’s hard, but not as hard as the runway/fence/ditch you’re gonna plow into.

A go around is never a bad decision.

Did the instructor had the controls so he could retake the plane and fix the problem whenever he sess that? If no , then such training should not happen with passangers.

Its so wrong that they did not make the findings public. What a strange thing , why is Italy this way?? IATA should force them. This is in the public interest, what are they hiding?! Sad for the loss of the FO life. This was yet another case of very poor decision making and unprofessional flying. "Go around", I will tell future pilots. If it doesnt look right please go around and if youre still struggling - divert. Nicely done video, good to see someone using XPlane for the visuals.

In addition to the other two comments, they absolutely will be available by contacting the investigating agency, they will be in Italian. Sometimes a summary is available in English being the international aviation language. The agency may or may not make these reports available on line, or if they do only for a particular timeframe before they are archived, but still available on request.

Sorry, forgot to add, the reason they are always available is due to there being a public expectation for answers, while the aviation/airline industry at large uses the valuable information they contain as a vital learning opportunity. Many changes and/or awareness is obtained and applied at either a regulatory level or incorporated into an airline’s standard operating procedures.

Really bad writing. I recommend you consult with someone who is fluent in English before finalizing the scripts.

I’m not fond of those A.I. voice softwares despite their marked improvements, in fact I despise them. Scripts for them absolutely need to be written in a phonetic format to achieve correct pronunciation. I expect this producer favours the AI option to using his/her own voice for whatever their personal reason is, accent, level of confidence, sound of own voice etc. Because it is in its burgeoning state, I sincerely hope in time he/she collaborates with someone who does have a good, well modulated voice for narration. Some producers that have used their own voice, which due to a number of reasons such as accents and examples given above, just don’t work and potentially ruin a great production. My initial response after watching one of the first ones of these productions was the same, great but ruined by AI voiceover! Then I thought the information was good, the graphics and editing excellent, so I’ll give him/her another chance. Who knows how old or what other factors including confidence etc are involved, but the research required, script creation, graphics execution and editing is a lot of work. I know I couldn’t do it and I’m professionally involved with aviation safety. That’s why I’m willing to overlook the AI issue (sincerely hoping things events change) and support this person's stellar effort.
