In this video, my buddy Tim dropped some of his mud onto my hawk; this jacked me up; No worries, I had to clean it off and continue playing the game.
Folks, the term, Stucco smooth wall finishes or textures or Smooth exterior plastering are the same.
La Habra calls their fine sand finish coat or SBSMF, short for Santa Barbera Smooth Mission Finish. But, man, that’s a mouthful.
Santa Barbara Smooth Mission” BMI calls their fine sand finish Marble finish.
Folks also call this a Mediterranean finish.
Quite possibly because La Habra started making finish coats in 1926. Thus they were the first to create these maintenance-free integrated color finishes.
Western stucco then came along in 1936 or around that time.
With their version of fine sand and named it Marble.
FYI, Santa Barbara Smooth Mission Finish Stucco is a cool name for a stucco finish coat.
Smooth finishes are the most time-consuming, as two coats are usually applied.
Thus smooth finishes are the most difficult.

• Smooth stucco Smooth finish over rough stucco.
• Repair bad stucco patc... Bad stucco exterior before and after.

Kirk,I have finished concrete for 45 years .Not until I watched your videos did I get a good stucco finish over a block wall. Thanks for making it possible for an old dog to learn something new.

Love the video! Just have one question. I've recently got a Santa Barbara finished BBQ island done last month. I was wondering if a sealer is required. If so what kind of sealer do I need?

Hello love watching your videos I started watching them in 2021 when I purchased a stucco home I’m needing to make a repair on my home and was trying to research on the finish and seen in this video the blue color finish at the beginning if the video is really similar to what my finish is, you don’t by chance know what that finish is by chance do you it would be greatly appreciated
