TWO ENDING REACTIONS FROM THE FLASH : Audience Reactions | June 1st & June 15th, 2023

This had two different endings from Warner Bros Entrainment The Flash. Went to the screening on June 1st and the director announce that this wasn't the finale-cut. When June 15th came, we finally got to see who was at the end. And we were shocked!

It was pretty shocking that George Clooney who apparently hated doing Batman and Robin or at least nowadays isn't too positive on it then he probably was back then doing the film made a cameo as Batman. Guess this means the DCEU Barry is stuck in I'm guessing a Schumaker universe with Clooney as Batman which could or maybe not be revisited.

To the point where my personal theory was that the first ending was suppose to be the actual ending and lead directly into DCU, but then the early reactions came in, that were mixed to negative, and that possibly combined with Ezra not showing any signs of improvement, if at all (I say possibly because I feel Gunn was going to recast Barry regardless), James Gunn gave the go ahead ro change the ending to have George Clooney, with the film no longer leading into his DCU.

Nah, this one was definitely fan service & far more poignant. Aside from the fact that West died in 2017 & this film was shot in 2021, an Adam West appearance would have been creepy/tacky & would have definitely not had the same reaction. An actor who donned the cowl once, got a lot of flak for it, but went on to become a massive Hollywood star decides to return for a one-off? AND the tongue-in-cheek dialogue of, "you're not Batman!' (which a lot of people said@the time of Clooney's casting, much like Keaton before him), directly lampshading the moment of the audience? Brilliant choice in filmmaking. Respect for West & the past got its nod in the montage earlier in the film. Clooney was by far the better choice & made for s much better ending. Just my $0.02.

It would kind of defeat the purpose of the ending KNOWING that he's now in some different (objectively worse) universe lol. Ezra is never playing the Flash again, so it's for the best to say "Yeah, he's in the dumpster fire universe of Batman And Robin." and just move on.

Because of the second ending and James Gunn said that George Clooney will not be Batman in the DCU instead it's a new actor, this confirms he's not part of that new universe where David Corenswet's Superman, Rachel Brosnanhan's Lois Lane exist.

To me, them nixing that first ending means that Ezra Miller is fired. If they felt confident about keeping him, they would have used this movie to springboard the new DCU. They converted it into a gag scene to have a clean break. They were downplaying the scandal to sell tickets. I bet they announce his firing as soon as the film reaches the end of its life cycle, likely after it’s been available on streaming for a bit.

Exactly, i think that the problem was MCU had a 5 year head start. Runtime of MOS, BVS, WW, Snyder’s JL was around 12 hrs thats about the same as MCU phase one. If you watch both today in retrospect DC was more mature, characters arcs were on the same level if not even better, it had better cinematography, CGI. Stories were more linked. And i think it will age better. But there were fans who wanted MCU movies with DC characters in it rather than watching DC being its own different thing. And WB caved in and kept course correcting and rushing everything.

One thing that puts Marvel above DC for me is how DC recasts all their big hero's with every other movie, Marvel keeps the same actors playing the same role for years so you feel more connected to their stories and the person, DC is just a big mess, every time they make a new show or movie there's someone different playing the role. If they did a Justice League movie series like they did Avengers and keep all the actors for the long haul they'd win me back. In my lifetime I've already seen 10 Batmans but only one Captain America.

That's because Marvel had a team of writers with a plan that was interested in the long game. If DC was patient they could've done the same, but instead they were in a hurry to compete directly, so they rushed into setting up the Justice League, which did not allow for a slow buildup like The Avengers film did. The need for quick $$$ killed the creative continuity required a for longterm film franchise success.

Did you watch the entire video? That was from the Screening day with a uncut ending. Thats how it ended. The second is the opening worldwide on June 15th. That became the finish final cut. They did had another different ending but they never got to release it.
