Hey! When I was very young, I had experienced these two idioms: "tit for tat" and "two can play that game" in different contexts between friends or co-workers. In Moroccan context, we say: tooth for tooth and eye for eye. Now, I don't like to say these things or even hear someone else saying them, it's too bad. Stay safe and healthy!

Great lesson again. ❤ 'Two can play that game' is new to me. The Chinese equivalent is 以其人之道还治其人之身(treat others the same way)

The new terms I've learned from this great lesson are: two can play that game(only for bad things), tit for tat(pretty even), escalation management, sea hawk, out of hand(go crazy), defiant tone, cold war(fake war)

Hi, Mark! Thank you for this lesson. In Russian there are two expressions for revenge: eye for eye, tooth for tooth and to pay somebody with the same coin. I really enjoy your videos.

Hi Mark! Some of your subscribers have already written several phrases on the topic in Russian. But there is one more, it's direct translate from English to Russian - в эту игру можно играть вдвоём (v etu igru mozhno igrat' vdvoyom). Then more I learning English, then more I recognize Russian equivalent.

Hello Mark, thank you for all you do, I would greatly appreciate it if you could find the time to make a lesson on how to pronounce the following words: "anesthesia," "anaesthetic," "anesthesiologist," and "anaesthetize." Thanks once again, have a wonderful time.

On the spot, teacher... Expressions and idioms native users use often appear in exams...blue or white collar job to be filled in the blanks... Also, to be in the red and so on. Great jobbbb dear teacher!!! Kudos to youuuuu! Much much love and plentiful from eastern Europe.

In Russian version we also have tit for tat, and tooth for tooth. I like Canadian beautiful houses and landscapes, that's great that we have the lesson out-of-doors.
