Hey you guys! Hopefully you like our reaction to Rainbow! it was absolutely insane and we loved every second of the video! Mia and I HAD to give a standing ovation, it felt mandatory! Comment if you gave a standing ovation with us! LOL! Stargazer was an epic song and this blew our minds! The vocals spiraled across our headphones and we loved the guitar solo! We felt the emotion and it blended in with the lyrics beautifully! If you guys would like to see more reactions like this definitely comment down below! I clicked on this immediately. My favorite guitarist,Ritchie Blackmore and his band Rainbow, doing one of their great epic songs.Juliet, I would agree 100% with your comment about getting goosebumps as that guitar solo comes to a climax.Of course Ronnie Dio with the epic vocals is great also.That Rainbow that was lighting up onstage was cutting edge technology in the mid 70's and it cost a fortune. Glad to see that you girls liked it. We can all pray that we can get past this Covid mess and back to some kind of normal life soon.

I was at the scene of that crash, visiting my grandparents in Bristol, stuck in the slow-moving traffic on the M4 that resulted from rubber-necking and lane closures in the immediate aftermath of the accident. Pre-internet days (for most anyway), I only found out it was Cozy when I got home and heard it on the news. My heart stopped, I just couldn't believe it. Still, all the best drummers seem to check out early. He lives on in legendary music like this.

@@toddstevens13 the band is Rainbow, not Stargazer. I can't really trust your word on how Rainbow was after he left considering you think the band is Stargazer. ;) Truthfully after DIO left the band took a huge shift and wasn't the same. But there was some good stuff in the Bonnet and Turner eras.

@@scottyflamingo1413 I know that, what I meant was once Cozy left, Stargazer in my mind never played again. I never went to see Rainbow, nor buy any of their albums after that, Cozy's playing is what made Stargazer the moment of perfection for Rainbow. No Cozy, no more Stargazer, to me anyway. That is what I meant when stating there was no more Stargazer, for me.

The song has a great story to it as well.Its about a wizard who thought he was greater than god and forced slaves to make a tower to take him to heaven but he went crashing down to earth instead.

story told by a slave who spent 9 years building a tower to the sky for a wizaerd who wants to challenge the gods. the shock and dissapointment as the wizard epically fails. then the realization he is now free to rturn "home" . 'my eyes are bleeding and my heart is leaving here', is the slave crying over his experience. the follow up " a light in the black" finishes the story of his journey home.

It is a song from the viewpoint of a "slave in Egyptian times" building a tower for the Pharaoh type to ascend to the stars because he believes he is a god and will not fall to his death.

@alricmetalheart4125

The Stargazer is a wizard who's obsessed with reaching the Stars he's always gazing at so he used evil magic (perhaps mind control or some form of persuasion) to enslave countless people who, in the most unbearable conditions had to build him a stone tower so he could reach the stars. By the time the tower is fully erected the Stargazer is become so blinded by his obsession that he tries to fly up from the towers top only to fall to his death. The slaves shocked and confused are free again. The lyrics may serve two purposes. One: plain and simple fantasy story and second: deep meaningful metaphors. The wizard (religious leader, politician or anyone with power) makes the people bend to his will by the use of dark magic( bribery, false promises etc) and exploits them.

For a brief moment following John Bonhams death... Led Zeppelin considered carrying on. A short list of drummers was batted around. From what I've heard Cozy Powell was at the top of that list. He is a beast of a drummer. His work with Black Sabbath in the 80s and 90s was incredible as well. Black Sabbaths Headless Cross album features Cozy at his best in my opinion. I was a drummer for many years myself... it seems like all my favorites were British drummers of this era. Cozy was at the top of my list... he was such a power house, but had incredible finesse as well....and amazing chops.

Not mentioned, the lead guitarist is Ritchie Blackmore and the bass player is Roger Glover (both of Deep Purple when Deep Purple was great). With Ronnie James Dio on lead vocals, this band contained greatness. DP went through a lot of personnel changes due to ego and drugs. Dio sang lead for Rainbow, then Black Sabbath and then went on a great solo career.

@@herobzzy - Well, Jimmy Bain was on the original studio track. The band is miming to that track here, with their then-current bass player, Bains’ replacement, the great Bob Daisley, who was also the original bass player in Ozzy’s post-Sabbath band and wrote Ozzy’s lyrics all the way up to the mid-90s. He’s never gotten the credit he’s due, nor the money! Sauron Osbourne saw to that, even going so far as to replace Daisley and original Blizzard of Ozz drummer, Lee Kerslake’s bass and drum tracks on the classic first two Ozzy records (Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman) with bass and drums played by Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin, who were in Ozzy’s band at the time. Sauron has gone where no man would dare to go. And, come to think of it, so has Ozzy, having that greedy cretin for a wife. Ask me how I really feel.

Great choice ladies. I was lucky enough to see and hear this performed live in 1976. ( I am that old!). Ronnie Dio ( R.I. P.) was a superb singer. He joined Black Sabbath after Rainbow and you would probably enjoy hearing " Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath, from the album of the same title. Keep reacting!!

If you liked the guitar solo, you must reaction to "Highway Star" by Deep Purple. Ritchie Blackmore is the lead guitar in Stargazer (and in Rainbow in general), but before that he played with Deep Purple. He's the GOAT.
