I've taught middle and high school, and I looked for kids like this, and I made sure they knew they were amazing kids. I also watched for those being bullied and made sure they knew, it was NOT THEIR FAULT, and they needed to talk, even of just to a sub teacher like me. Seeing boys like these two athletes restores my faith a bit.

Parents did a great job with those young men. I honestly think that the maturity of young men can be traced straight back to their mothers. Fathers for discipline and self control, mothers for maturity and emotional centeredness. These moms did amazing.

It's not everyday that you see proof positive in the flesh,as it were. Because too many times, things like that just don't happen. Depending on where you live in America, places like the inner city of Chicago is rough. And it can be brutal. In Detroit,as well. Nobody said that inner-city life was easy. But in this case,I'm just glad it turned out that way. Who says that teenagers can't be responsible and respectful these days?

The "jock" and cheerleader bullies do exist, but not everyone fits the stereotype. When I was in high school, it actually appeared to me that the "stoners", who were often the kids from dysfunctional families or in foster care, were more aggressive and meaner as a whole. As for the "jocks" and cheerleaders, I did see some who behaved like scoundrels, but the levels of aggression and antisocial behavior were generally lower among them than with the "stoners", some of whom I was afraid of because there were a few pothead females who regularly threatened to kick my ass for no particular reason besides that they were so "pissed off" about everything going on in their lives. They also got into fights with each other over unpaid loans and stolen drugs. Yet again, I may perhaps be biased because I was in a couple of special ed classes and had to deal with some of the more troubled youths.

@Katrinka San Francisco Bay Area Congrats to you and your daughter! My father has always told me that "success is the best revenge". I've also noticed that some of my childhood bullies are losers as well, or at least less successful than I am academically. Some of them are in prison or on drugs. Honestly, though, I've pretty much moved on and don't care about that now. I don't look at their Facebook pages to see if I can find out how much worse they're doing nowadays. I'm aware that some of them have already kind of destroyed themselves to some degree, but I don't waste my energy and emotions on enjoying their suffering. Once you're satisfied with your own life and the people you're around, it becomes more easy to forget about those people. You don't really realize until high school is over what a limited environment it is and the nonsense that takes place there. The real world will give them a rude awakening if it hasn't already!

Amazing boys! Now get the cheerleaders to get together for the bullied little girls. I was bullied from kindergarten until I graduated high school and I would have given anything for one of the popular girls, or any girl for that matter, to have taken me under her wing and show me friendship. I nearly committed suicide 3 times during high school.

I too was bullied horribly. I had No safe place to go, no one to talk to, no one would help. I missed a whole semester in 9th grade to the fact of being bullied so severely. The principal, vice principal, and school security officer all witnessed it first hand. They stood there and did nothing. When I was stopped going that semester they were at the door wanting to charge me with truncy. How sick and twisted was that!!!!

i wished these football players were there for me when i was a boy. i was bullied throughout my childhood. spoke to my father about it, and was the first time i learned what was violence was all about. being violent and fighting back can sometimes be the answer, yet i remember getting my ass kicked every time. coming home with black eyes, knocked out teeth and bloody noses. if the eagle buddies were there for me back then, I'm sure their efforts would be far more effective vs me, a single kid vs. several bullies. so proud of these young men stepping up and making a difference. they should go worldwide with this thing they got going.

So very proud of these Teens. The younger boy has a ways to go because he is still bothered about being Bullied. Maybe taking some defense lesson would also help him. Great Young Teens to step up and help the little people. 💪👍✊👑👑🙏😘😘🎈Stay Strong younger boy and you showed strength by coming on stage to tell your story. Much love to all 3 guys.

Bullys really need to take a strong, hard look at themselves because they don't even realise what their actions are doing. The trouble is, most of the time they don't realise they're being bully's! They've got something else going on in their life which is making them react that way. That needs to be addressed first. And to kids who are being bullied right now, IT GETS BETTER. It does, and I honestly mean that. It gets better,

This issue always drags multiple emotions out of me - anger, disgust, pain for the children being bullied, pain for their parents who would put their own lives on the line for their children, but can't do a thing to stop the bullies. But what really woke me up to the absolute horror of bullying is when two 14-year old girls in the school that my grandchildren attend, committed suicide less than a year apart. Teenagers are in the most fun years of their lives; they're starting to see that graduation day is finally getting closer, they may already be entertaining ideas of what they want to be "when they grow up", they've formed some very good and lasting relationships with classmates, etc. And then, to be singled out by one or more persons to become a target of daily bullying, stalked on the way home so that the harassment can continue, the terrible phone messages and texts that come relentlessly through the night - social media has made it possible for bullying to be carried on for 24 hours a day.

Sometimes but if you look into it, even telling the parents doesn't work often. It takes the parents, the school admin and community to step in and stop this epidemic.

i mean, the bully told his mom and she went to the school. not sure what he told her, but it was enough for her to make her way there and say something about it.

From what I have found, most kids are too embarrassed to talk to their parents or other adults, and then if they do, they're either ignored or the adults bully them too. So, the poor kid has nobody to talk to, but the daily fear is still there when they go back to school or wherever the bullying is taking place. Sometimes kids will move away and of course the bullying stops, but not before the metal damage has been done to the kid that was bullied, they feel worthless, let down, etc. It shows, they try to hide it but most of the time it shows in their behavior, the way they carry themselves, they'll oftentimes sit alone, they're really quiet, reserved, don't really play with others, etc. Worst part is many are faced with horrible self esteem, they feel its their fault, and those thoughts often lead to suicidal thoughts. As member of our communities we need to watch out for things like this happening, and step in and put a stop to it. Get the kid that's being bullied out of the situation and away from the bullies immediately...don't just intervene and tell the bullies to stop, they won't, they'll go right back to the bullying as soon as you go away.

To anyone who has been bullied, or is being bullied and has the courage to endure the negative and become stronger and turn it into motivation to make yourself better, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION AND YOU ARE AWESOME! If anyone is interested in my opinion on how to solve the bullying problem, please take the time to read this with an open mind.... I'd like to start by extending my condolences to anybody who has ever lost somebody due to suicide , or bullying. Also, I'd like to say that bullying is wrong, but it will never go away, so I suggest to everyone to focus more on the victim. And what can be done to help prevent victims of bullying from feeling that the only option they have left is to take either the lives of their bullies, or their own life. First, lets focus on the ROOT of the problem, in my opinion. The parents of both parties is the problem. The victims parents didn't teach their child to be social enough or to have enough self worth. The bullies parents didn't teach them how to feel good about themselves without having to show off by putting other people down to make themselves feel more dominant. It's sad, because the parents aren't even aware that they are partially to blame most of the time. But the older generations will blame it on this generation of kids just being softer. Who knows, maybe it's something in the air or food nowadays that is causing it.... It's amazing how many kids don't realize how easy they have it. Go try to live in a country where you don't even have the opportunity to go to school and meet friends, the only thing you would have to worry about is trying not to starve to death. Maybe you can put a bit of the blame on teachers, but it is their job to teach the curriculum. Teachers don't get paid to teach kids morals and right from wrong. They are not psychologists. They are not super heroes. Although, the teachers or anyone who witnesses someone being bullied, should definitely inform the parents if they are aware of the bullying going on. I would encourage parents to make sure their kids make friends in school and find their niche. If your child doesn't have much in common with other kids, try to get them to like common things. You may feel like you pushing your kids to participate in something they aren't interested in is wrong, but this is just a gateway for them to make more friends. For instance have them join band or any sports to raise their chances of making more friends. If they give it a shot and end up not liking the hobby, at least may make at least a friend out of the attempt. I'd be willing to bet that a large % of victims that get bullied are targeted because they failed to make friends soon enough in school. I'm not saying that it is o.k. to pick on someone for being a loner/or different. But, I am saying that is a big reason why kids get bullied. And in my opinion, this is partially because of the parents. It all starts at home with parents instilling confidence in their children, forcing them to make friends. The best way to help them is by talking to the victim to help boost their self esteem, and to teach them how to deal with it on their own. Talking to the bullies usually doesn't solve anything. The problem with trying to play hero and confronting the bully, is there will always be more bullies. Even after school throughout life you deal with mean people. By going straight to the bully, you are just fixing the problem short term. Long term, you are causing the bullied victims to be dependent on getting help from somebody else. You can't be their with the victim to hold their hand their whole life. They need to learn to be strong and deal with it on their own. Whether it be ignoring the bully so they don't get off from the reaction of their victims, or by standing up for yourself by returning it back to them, or by just proving to them and everyone else that you are equal to them, or however else. I also think it is wrong to blame the teachers in most cases. In my opinion, a good parent is not someone who just gives their child everything they want all the time. A good parent puts their children in tough situations that they are afraid of, until they can hopefully overcome their fears. It's called tough love. I even lacked this to a point growing up, I was just fortunate enough to grow tough skin on my own. I was the farthest thing from Mr. Popular in school, lacking confidence, but I never asked anyone for sympathy. I eventually grew up, and realized that the world is not fair. You have to fight to survive and thrive in this world. I also realized that my childhood was a cakewalk compared to many other kids. Talk about first world problems. To anyone who has been bullied, or is being bullied and has the courage to endure the negative and become stronger and turn it into motivation to make yourself better, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION AND YOU ARE AWESOME!
