I spent a week in Venice a few years ago, in March. Took a water taxi from the airport to a matter of yards from the hotel door. Bought rover tickets for the water bus, and went everywhere!! Also, walked round the whole island!! Really enjoyed it.

Growing up in the Italian neighborhood of North Beach in San Francisco, there was (and still is) a wonderful family owned Italian focaccia bakery. When I asked the baker how to pronounce focaccia he said, "Like pizza, but you focaccia the cheese." Looks like such fun. Thanks for letting us come along with you. :)

This is clearly a case where the journey is a big part of the reward. It's always interesting to me to see people at various special and extraordinary places, and realize that for the locals there, it's just another ordinary day. As I watched you standing in some of those historic places, I tried to imagine how it would have looked hundreds of years ago. How the people would have dressed, and of course there wouldn't be any electric lighting. Great journey so far!

Venice - one of my favorite, most special places in the world. And approaching from the water, through the lagoon is truly magical. So happy for you that you went with Plan B and were able to experience Venice even if it was only for a short visit...and for taking us along. Brought back some wonderful memories.

The filming and editing are excellent, but the music is the emotional brush that paints the feelings that give you a total immersed experience. I don't know, maybe that doesn't make much sense, but the style of Benny's music adds the feeling part to the videos. For me at least... 🤷‍♂

Lovely vlog thanks 😊. I love Venice out of season, we were there once in February when you had to walk on planks, I was 9 months pregnant and everyone helped me keep my balance 😊. Another time, with 3 children in tow during the canicule of 2010 I think, fantastic not another tourist in sight, I just told the kids today is ice cream day you can have as many as you can eat 😂( in fact they were 3 times cheaper than in our hometown in France and we'd just spent 3 weeks on a deserted Croatian island ). In thee darkness of the evening we'd all go and sit on the bank of the Grand Canal and watch the boats and the lights, just magic 😊.

I too was in Venice for about 2 hours before we set sail for a 3 week cruise, best pizza I ever tasted, beer and espresso was the best to, you were on the same bridge as me and what I found that was amazing was how old the pillars and the big square blocks were that I was standing on, I thought the Romans were standing and touching these, nothing like that here in Canada, have a safe trip, cheers.🥰

I did a two week holiday to Florence in 2016. Went alone so I could experience everything I wanted to. I did a lot of day trips including Venice, Rome, Sienna, Pisa, Cinque Terre. I'll never forget the experience for the rest of my life. From walking out the train station in Venice, to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in Rome. Watching the sunset at the Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence. One of the luckiest parts of my trip was managing to get a ticket into the Vasari Corridor in Florence as part of the Uffizi museum guided tour I booked. I actually didn't realise just how lucky I was at the time as it's notoriously difficult to get in. I managed to get a last minute ticket. Oh and a wine tasting excursion in the Tuscany vineyards. Just blows my mind to this day I was so lucky to experience all that.

I don't know Venice out of season, but in season - the better cheaper quieter restaurants are in the Eastern side of the island. I found the best way to access Venice is by train. I think Venice is my very favourite Italian city. I was so pleased you enjoyed Venice as much as you did.

It’s One of the best places to stay I have stayed there for six days. It was amazing you get up at 5 o’clock in the morning and we were right on the canal at hotel first off you get the toilet boats, then you get the dustbin men on their boats and then you get the shops on their boat, and then you get the alcohol. The food and scenery was bliss

Definitely agree you made the right decision to explore out of season. When Venice is packed with people at peak times it can feel very different and you can feel very claustrophobic in small little alleys. Especially in high heat! Loved you went back to the van for a cup of tea and re-group before making a new plan! So British!! Ha ha!

I have been twice on a small cruise ship we started there high up on the main deck the buildings were amazing.Second time I did the bars,restaurants in May perfect time not too hot or busy.😊loved it.Glad you enjoyed your trip stay safe love the hat bye the way .

We stayed over the bridge to Venice a few years ago, you get the bus from the town and it takes 20 minutes. We had arranged for a boatman to take us to the 'haunted island' Poveglia, the boatman would not go on the island! Loving your videos, travels and all the beautiful music🎶👌

Hi Ben and Emily, I think it would help if you showed some of the bad times if you felt comfortable doing so. I’ve had anxiety and panic attacks since I was a teenager and because of this I’ve felt unable to travel so I love watching all your travels. I admire your ambitions and slightly nomadic way of life, something I would have loved to do, and knowing that you also have anxiety but still go on adventures in spite of it really helps me think maybe I could too.
