You play checkers, I play chess. The play was to get a vanilla monster in play, because I had swing of memories in my hand, which can only target a normal monster in my graveyard. So until I can get a Normal Monster in grave, it’s effectively useless. Which is why playing sword stalker immediately is the right idea, because it gets me closer to using a card that would otherwise be dead. It’s not always about “oh this number bigger”. The hard part about making a Fusion deck similar to these deck's power level is how specific Fusion monsters are. Can't really run a mish-mash of cards without some theming or cohesion. Here's what I'm thinking, while also avoiding cards that have negate effects. For the Extra Deck boss monster, I think something on par with (mostly) Zeus and Prime-Heart would probably be something like {Mysterion the Dragon Crown} (1 Spellcaster + 1 Dragon). Primarily a 3000 beat stick in a sealed format against these starter decks, easy enough with the right core, and with an effect that is not as oppressive as Zeus. The remaining three Extra Deck monsters should be generic enough to synergize with the boss, have presence on the field, and have some impact in your momentum. Here are a few I feel work. - {Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion} works well with a small dragon core and a few Gaia's (OG normal, Swift, Origin?). - {Archfiend's Manifestation} works with a Summon Skull, fusion substitutes, and trap monsters. - {Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon} is a forgotten beat stick of the early pendulum era and, despite the name, it only needs a Dark Dragon and a Beast (also no fusion card if both are on the field). - {Starving Venom Fusion Dragon}, an obvious one but that has a slight restriction with the materials being on the field. - {Garura, Wings of Resonant Life}'s usefulness really depends on the situation it is in. In a more cohesive deck, I can really see this one shine. This fusion deck would run trap monsters like Quantum Cat, and some ratio of Spellcasters/Warriors/Dragons/Beasts alongside a modern card like {Keeper of Dragon Magic}. Unfortunately, most generic Fusions act like beaters with the utility Fusions being more and more specific with materials/archetypes. I also will honorably mention {First of the Dragons} as I feel neither of these decks can reliably out it. Also, sorry Mudragon (if only you changed type as well) as you would eat up resources for not that much, and sorry to the generic Pyro + Machine/Machine + Dragon Fusion monsters (since two don't stick around for board value and Blaze Fenix materials will mess up the ratios too much).

Okay, i know we love to hate on Pendulum, but Metalfoes is a decent fusion/pendulum deck that is not too crazy (Or at all) and also the only morally correct way of using Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. For fusion, you could also rock Shadoll, but it´s floodgates turbo (You could ban Winda)

For a fusion starter deck, they could get kinda crazy with it. A mud dragon of the swamp is an easy choice, along with Panzer dragon for a weak yet very useful card that both need generic materials. The more broken options could be the first of the dragoons which would be crazy in a deck with a good amount of normal monsters as well as Garura (or Chimera if you want to get crazy) for a very useful card. One more option I could see would be adding Neos into the deck with either brave Neos or Neos knight so they could have the iconic card that could still bring a lot of value without being too broken.

Guardian chimera, first of the dragons, panzer dragon, or basically anything with a few hex sealed fusions, and fusion gate or 3 polys or a little frightfur fusion material package. A branded in white albaz mini package can fusion summon all types of different stuff too without being crazy.

Once you reach a certain rank this game is pretty much unplayable unless you use structure decks. The fun only lasts so long then you end up playing against the same decks every single duel. Literally...Konami needs to add a way for players to have good duels and actually have fun and keep it separate from players who want FTKs. One of my favourite games of all time and I’m starting to hate it. If you’ve ever played FIFA ultimate team then you know exactly what I mean.

Honestly they could very easily do the SuperPoly Fusion monsters (Garura, Starving Venom, Mud Dragon, Dragostapelia) and give the deck one copy of Poly and SuperPoly. Or do a dragon deck with Five Headed Dragon and Dragons Mirror in a dragon filled deck
