@@monicahow Thank you, Monica. That makes me feel nostalgic for the Brixton and Peckham that I was born and raised just 2 miles from and, reluctantly, left in 1983 so, 40 years ago now.. It seems like a lifetime ago that I used to hear, frequently, words and phrases like Bumboclaat and Kiss mi raas. A wonderfully rich, expressive language:) Just a small grammatical point but isn't "Raasclaat" one word, not two words though? How lucky am I though as from 2019 I live with a Lady born in "Country" from Hamaica so I get to hear those words all over again.😀.

Even in the sketchier parts of Jamaica I met some wonderful and generous people. The scariest experience that I had was actually a misunderstanding of their customs lol. Basically I had gotten something in my eye in the jungle, and our guide grabbed my skull with both hands and used his thumbs to hold my eyeball open while he aggressively blew short bursts of air at my eyeball. It was one of the most confusing and startling experiences. I had no idea what he was trying to do at the time, but apparently it's just what they do when you get something in your eyes over there lol.
