Gentlemen, welcome to the Church which was started by your Messiah, by Jewish apostles for the salvation of your people and then for us Gentiles of which I am one. I lost my Jewish brother-in-law to cancer in 21 and then my dear sister in 23 almost 2 years to the day after her husband.She was devout Catholic and he an agnostic Jew. I pray both are in heaven or at least purgatory. He was able to talk for several hours to the family's rabbi before he died.Their daughters are both agnostic or maybe atheist. I plan to get Roy's book for them ( one is my God daughter), and maybe they will understand the continuation of the Jewish faith as it flowed into the Catholic Church. I watch the One for Israel site occasionally, and praise God for all the Jews who are coming to Christ/Yeshua. Praise be Jesus Christ for the conversion of your parents, Roy! God bless and keep you both!

This is wonderful! I am also going to the Traditional Latin Mass. It is so beautiful and there are the Jewish elements in it that, to a certain extent, you feel like it is a continuation of the same religion. As a Catholic, I was taught that our Jewish brother and sisters need to be protected by the Church because the will accept Jesus as their messiah at the end of times and that the Catholic and Jews will become one. God bless you all!

Br. Gilbert, you might know me from the facebook from about 4 years ago, from the Hebrew Catholic group. I got kicked off FB for posting a hadith without any commentary to a Islam Christian debate group. That is why I am no longer in the group, I did not leave the group, was kicked off FB. If the followers of that religion think their own trustworthy sources indicate possession of the founder, and consider posting their own sources hate, there is a problem with that religion.

I heard about Roy's conversion story and a few others and I cant help but be amazed how some come to believe in Jesus through some mystical experience. Actually, I grew up with a high regard and respect for Jews - part of the influence of Belgian missionaries who brought Christianity to us - the mountain tribes in the Cordillera mountains north of the Philippines. I would suggest a series of interviews on Jews who become Jewish Catholic. Debbie Herbeck has a great conversion story. Born and raised in a highly successful prominent devout Jewish family, when she went to college she became more exposed to the person of Jesus and "discovered" He was Jewish. She came home from college and announced she wanted to become Catholic her shocked parents had their Catholic business colleague come over to the house to talk her out of it.

Alhamdu'lillah I am an Antiochene Maronite too. We are "the" most Jewish of ALL rites in the Temple. The Temple's resurrection will come from out of a Jewish resurrection and reaffirmation of the Messianic Judaism that is Catholicism; Yeshua haMashiac the Jew, the Rabbi, the greatest of ALL Rabbis that were, are now, or ever will be, possibly a Hillelite Pa'rush [Pharisee] must be restored to the Temple if Catholicism is to make any sense. One has to remember the covenantal Judaism transformed into covenantal Catholicism. One has to enter through the covenant into salvation. I have been told by someone not Jewish that Catholicism is against the Torah as well and I have asked them as to what exactly they meant, they meant and they never could articulate what they meant. The fact is that in the Olam Haba the some of the laws would be suspended and the Gentiles would enter into the covenant. However, there is something even deeper in this fore-understanding regarding the Messianic Olam Haba. The pig will return to the covenant. Who is the pig in Judaism? It is Rome. It is also about exile and the return from it. The pig is the symbol of Rome in Judaism. The pig becomes acceptable when Rome enters into the covenant. What is this covenant? It is the Catholic Church the sign of the covenant is the Eucharist - a thanksgiving sacrifice that would not shed any blood. Everything in Judaism is pointing towards Catholicism.
@deusimperator
@deusimperator 3 жыл бұрын
Just to add, the first non-Jew to enter into the covenant was the family of Cornelius, a Roman. It was not a Greek, but a Roman. The Jews had far more dealings with Greeks and many Jews were Hellenics. Greeks were everywhere in Judea. But it was not a Greek to become the first Gentile convert. It was a Roman centurion. Read Acts 10. ONLY WHEN CORNELIUS IS READY TO ENTER INTO THE FAITH DOES THE PIG BECOME CLEAN READ ACTS 10....

I didn't know that the intercession of the saints had Jewish precedent. A few months back I learned from another channel (Pints with Aquinas) that chant was probably something that grew from temple musicians becoming Catholic and bringing their practice and talents to the Church. Hope you do more of this. Outside of Dr. Brant Pitre's books, I don't know a lot about the Jewish roots of the Church.

@@YardenJZ that makes sense now that you mentioned it. But most of us Catholics don't read Scripture with Jewish eyes so we miss out on all these connections unless we can link it to the OT through typology (I didn't even know about typology till I was in my mid twenties). I'm beginning to see a lot of connections between the NT and Jewish practice not explicitly mentioned in Scripture thanks to Dr. Pitre's work. Seeing that helps makes sense why St. Paul, as Dr Andrew Swafford says, didn't see his life as a conversion but rather a fulfillment (I'm missing the precise word he used) of the faith of his ancestors.

Jewish roots.... most of us who are Jews would say that Catholicism is Judaism in the Olam Haba, The Church does not have Jewish roots, it is the Jewish Faith. Cantors are those who chant at shul. Synagogues even today continue to have cantors. The Tehilim are supposed to be cantored.

Concerning the tombs of tzaddiks and the mention of Matthew 23:29... Type in tomb of Simon haTzaddik in google search. The Hassid run guild tours, like Catholics, to the tombs and shrines of the tzaddikim *rightous/saints). The early Christians were merely following Jewish practices. They held the Liturgy over the tombs of the martyred persons. They were not inventing something new but following an ancient tradition. That tomb of Shimon haTzaddik has been there for 2200 years.

3 Aves for each of you 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻 Thank you for the discussion on "Replacement Theology." That's always puzzled me since I first heard of it. The message that seeped into my mind since childhood in the Catholic Church is that the Jewish people are chosen forever, and we Gentiles are the adopted sons and daughters of God granted into the Body of Christ and nourished by His Blood. Forgive me for not being able to quote the Scriptures, prayers, and Catechism passages verbatim, let alone chapter and verse or the setting of the prayer. I only wish I could for the sake of rebutting the irrational anti-Semitism I've come across in some Traditional circles. Alas, all I can do is offer the summary and pray for their souls.

I'm a cradle Catholic; gentile as far as I know. Though I'm happy that according to my ancestry report it seems I have some Jewish ancestry, praise be to God! Yet, I've always had love and admiration for the Jewish people. I don't understand how you can love Our Lady, or Our Lord for that matter, and have any antisemitism in your heart. It simply makes no sense. I don't mean to "virtue signal", I just sincerely don't understand it. I always remember when a Jew asked St. Josemaría what he thought about him and he said: "The love of my life is a Jew". I believe that should be the answer of every Catholic, Jew or gentile, if they know their faith.

Yeah, I think it’s important to distinguish between hating someone’s people vs being against the kind of rabbinic Judaism which is antichristic and anti Catholic. Secular society regularly mixes up the two. In my opinion, because the Jews were elected by God to bring salvation to the world, those Jews who vehemently rejected the Messiah and their spiritual descendants ended up becoming the inverse of what God created them for. There have always been two sides of the Jewish people, those who worship the golden calf/Moloch, and the faithful remnant who cling to God and His truth.

Hi Daniel! 1) I have a request for You. Could You PLEASE make a video about Apostolic Fathers? I would like to know which writings were important for You and convinced You to join Catholic Church. It can be spiritually beneficial also for those who are not knowing the origins of the Church and who are viewing the Catholic Theology as the effect of later councils (like Nicea, Trent Council etc). Please consider sharing with us Your experience with Apostolic Fathers. You can even make a series on that, because the topic is broad and probably cannot be covered in one video. Maybe You can share passages that were important for You? I mean, learning the very beginning of the church is a great adventure. 2) Roy said that he considers collaboration with One for Israel. I hope so! This group has contributed to my spiritual life and love for Israel as well as for biblical archaeology. BUT, sadly, I discovered they are soooooo anti - Catholic in their rhetoric. Their talks are full of the criticism of the Catholic faith.... I am huge fan of their passion for the Messiah, but I'm also heartbroken that in the SAME time they bring people to faith in Jesus and they hate Catholicism... 3) As a Polish person I would like to show You some polish worship music (yes, Catholic) that is a prayer for the Jews. It is rock-styled, with some Jewish inspiration. It was released on year ago, yet published a week ago on the KZbin. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4mmg4t4nK6Ih7M The music will be - I hope - Your favorite, it's all immersed in the Scripture, with Jewish symbols, and the Church praying for the Israel to recognize their Messiah.

"We own the Catholic Church" I have said this a few times dealing with some difficult persons of a particular persuasion. Unfortunately, this is what we are going to do when we have to pull out the ace of spades in the Catholic deck of cards. Many of us, due to our heritage, believe this at some level. This is also the reason why Jews were blinded because the Gentiles who came in would be regarded as second class citizens. The fact is, Catholicism is OUR natural Faith given to us as our birthright. As Jewish Catholics, we have refused to reject (or subsequently reclaimed) our eternal birthright, unlike Esau who did. Catholicism is OUR religion which is practiced by Gentiles because some of us rejected that birthright.

One of the main reasons why the old Latin Mass has been replaced by Novus Ordo beside the replacement of the Latin Mass to the local languages, was the prayer against the Jews! As long as most people did not understand what the priest was declaming, most did not even know about this anti-semetic attitude. But, watching this from Germany, I fear that the extreme right-wing has found a hole and a wave to instrumentalise religion for their weird and dangerous politics! This is the reason why the Pope does not want a political movement declared as religeous service. There has been enough prosecution in the name of God. BTW, our Pope has called the Jews as our elder brothers! Continue your good works; I see both arms of the Vatican court as the OT and the NT, Jesus being the corner stone holding everything together. Greetings from Germany 😻🇩🇪🇮🇱🙏🕍⛪

Being Jewish? Hard. Being Catholic? Also hard. To be both? Even harder! I'm constantly wrestling with my identity as both a Catholic and a Jew. The fringe right-wing Catholics will hate you for holding onto your Jewish identity. The Jews will hate you for "abandoning your Judaism" (even though we haven't. We've fulfilled our Judaism). The Association of Hebrew Catholics helped me a lot with reconciling that you CAN be both, but it's still hard. I'm grateful that at least most Catholics and Jews I've personally met don't mind. A lot of Catholics I meet actually think it's cool that I'm Jewish, though that could just be the particular Catholic circles I stick around. The Jews are just indifferent, especially because I'm involved with the Jewish Federation and they (as an organization, at least) welcome interfaith relations, and welcome Jews of all backgrounds when it comes to participation in events. All in all, no matter how many people wanna protest, I'm honored to be able to call myself a Hebrew Catholic.

It's shameful that some Catholics are anti-sematic, and even directly to your face. These people forget that our Lord and our Lady are Jewish!!! All of the Apostles were Jewish. The Catholic Church is a continuation of the Jewish faith. It's the fulfillment.

Both Jews and Catholics are brothers. The Bible often talks about the conflict between the big brother vs the little brother from Cain vs Able to Esau vs Jacob to the parable of the Prodigal son. The blessings from the Father always go to the little brother. In our case, the Jews are the Big brother and the Catholics are the Little Brother. We are both Jews. Catholics are the Jews that accepted Our Lord Jesus as the Messiah.

@@gatogati2281 Jesus’ story parallel that of the Joseph whose brothers put him into the well for 3 days then sold him to the Ishmaelites for silver and took him to Egypt and subsequently became its ruler. Jesus was sold for silver and was in the tomb for 3 days and His Kingdom became the ruler of Europe. The story ends with his brothers recognizing him and I believe this is how the story of Our Lord will end also. 😊

Jesus IS the Truth & Salvation. The Light came into the world through the Jews & through David's lineage: Jesus, Mary & Joseph. Though He came through them & for them, thank God they rejected Him so He will come to all the Gentiles. Paul, a Jew also, was pivotal in His zeal to spread the Good News to the world. God, Who so loved the Jews, raised our Jew from the Dead to send Him back a 2nd time to them! 😊

Tell those antisemites in the Latin Church that the first half of the Tridentine Latin Mass came over from the Apostles. The Lamb without spot and wrinkle that prayer is said in the Tridentine Latin Mass. Jesus Christ and His Apostles attended the Temple in Jerusalem for Passover Prayers every year the symbolic lamb was sacrificed but special prayers had to be said called Passover Prayers (Death of Messiah). We are told On the night He was betrayed He and His Apostles attended the Temple in Jerusalem for Passover Prayers. His Death Prayers are in the Tridentine Mass.

The idea of intercession is the same as our saints in the Catholic Church but what I would like to know is how could those rabbis intercede if they were not in Heaven according to Judaism. The Gates of Heaven were opened by Jesus so they would be in heaven but the Jews did not know that . Could Roy explain this please?

@@ilonkastille2993 sure friend! first task, Bible differences. while the catholic 'bible' does have added apocrypha, which contradicts the rest of Scripture, it is also missing verses. see, a simple read of the Bible will prove to those who can read, that the apocrypha is not in agreement with God's Word. heck, even 'catholic answers' admits that the apocrypha is added and not inspired, but of catholic origin. please research from unbiased sources. we can proceed after church and worship and celebration this morning. *Happy Sabbath!!!* -- today, according to the Christian Bible, is the Lord's day and It's church time for all Christians! will check back much later, since today is the Holy day.

@@tony1685 you are speaking like an indoctrinated “ one of the tens of thousands of different churches created by people because of different OPINIONS.” I will therefore not go into each point on this limited platform but will say something about the Sabbath. First of all . Sabbath as you know , just means SEVEN . Nothing more. God created during Six days and on number 7 he said He would rest , therefore we have a day of rest AND worship on number 7. The most important day of the Christian Faith was on Sunday . That is the day Our Lord Resurrected after His death due to His Cruxifiction. That is why we made the day of Worship on the day of His Resurrection. Without His Resurrection, there would be no Christianity. It would all have been for nothing …. Therefore, those who think or believe that the number 7 ( which is still 7 days after Monday) is more important than the Resurrection which is the basis of everything , then you are not a Christian . Number 7 is only a number and if we start the week on Monday then Sunday is still the 7th day, even if the word sabbath is Saturday. .

@@tony1685 since you are allowed to read /write , now that the Sabbath is over , I read your comment again and saw that you wrote that the Catholic bible "does have added apocrypha" and that even "catholic answers" admits that apocrypha is not inspired but of Catholic origin? I don't know which Catholic answers you are reading but it Is not true. Yes we say that they are not true , it is not that we "admit" it. Apocrypha are those religious books written in the OLD and New Testament ERAS and "claimed" a sacred origin but were judged by the C. Church as NOT inspired by the H. Spirit. Protestants MISTAKENLY place the Deuterocanonicals (7 O.T. Books in this category). We have those seven books not "added" but ARE from day one in the Bible, which is Catholic, until After Luther in new bibles which are not Catholic. The 7 Deuterocanonical books (not Apocrypha) were not ADDED by us but were SUBTRACTED by those who came after Luther. That is why the Bible has 73 books ,not 66 books . Saint Paul adressed clearly the subject in his letters on the need to leave behind the old precepts of the Mosaic Law and embrace the new freedom of the Children of God by means of the Faith (faithful belief and full obedience like the one of our Father Abraham) in Jesus The Messiah and Son of God. So, being under the New and eternal Berith in the Messiah (messianic times we live in) imply a new relationship with God with new rules for His new and eternal Kingdom (which starts in the Earth in His Church). As a matter of fact, Christ explains that the Law will be now in the hearts of the faithful and accomplished as a work of the Holy Spirit, not by the effort and merit of the person but by the Grace (Gift) from God and the fidelity and obedience to Him from the believer to make it fruitful in good deeds.

At 52:30-52:40, ref.Catholic Church evangelizing to Jews, I wish to express that your respectable guest is erroneous in his view. I follow all Jewish converts enthusiastically, though, I admit, that Israel's demented war on Palestinians has not only radicalized me against Zionists, but against Jews as well. I'm Lebanese. A traditional Maronite. Our Holy Mother's Miracles reveal that both Jews & Moslems shall convert at the End of Time not only to Christianity, but principally to Catholicism. Credit to Moslem women for the fact that whenever & wherever they hear of Our Mother's Miracles, they are present on location in droves. Before the Catholics. They honour her immensely. The men are dragged along (though they covertly believe) only when they seek a Miracle in their lives. (I'm watching this podcast for the 3rd time...thank you!)
