You are deluded if you think these will all be EV in 10 years . (plus the life of an EV will be 10 years tops so all those will have to be replaced again) Millions of folk live in terraced houses, how will they charge overnight ??? To fully charge a measly 50kw small EV takes the same amount of power as the average household uses in a week. Where is all the extra power going to come from? Also too many are catching fire. EV Depreciation is totally horrendous. Example : Neighbour had Audi ETron £75k new. 3 years later worth a poxy £25k 😅 I won't be buying one sometime soon.

My personal record was blocking 6 EV chargers at once, when I was delivering travel trailers to northern Ontario. I had run the route to Sudbury three times before and stopped at the same petrol station for a break. But this time there were six brand new Tesla superchargers occupying the space I used before. Funny, I thought. I'd never even seen an EV in this part of northern Ontario. Look at the map. Anybody trying to get around in an EV up there in the winter has a need to be stranded and freeze to death. Strangely enough, there was no phalanx of Teslas waiting to charge, so I parked there, blocking all the Superchargers. Took a picture of it to commemorate the occasion, drained my bladder, refilled my coffee and went on my merry way. When I got home, I posted the picture to a social media site, and got so many negative comments, you'd have thought I was clubbing baby seals.

Correct, it is a very efficient and affordable car, ULEZ exempt but slightly penalised on CO2 because of the 16v performance. The engine was upgraded to 1.4 for the heavier Stilo and later Bravo 2, those gained the option of a 120 or 150 HP turbo variant.

I get the sense that he believes that the longer the video, the more substance is represented. He seems intent on reporting his whole journey, and that leads to him needing to fill the time with inane chatter. But in reality, as is so often the case, less is more, and easily achieved via simple judicious editing.

Having driven a number of Volvo 240's, now driving an old Volvo S60 from 2002, the step up in quality is night and day. The 240's were filled with squeaky, rattly plastic, the S60 feels like a modern car. I honestly struggle to figure out what a new petrol/diesel car brings compared to my 22 year old S60 except for lane assist and touch screens.

The E46 3 series estate with a 3.0 straight six diesel was a perfect combination similar to the volvo. It waa lovely lump and actually sounded nice too. It was about as fast as you can actually cope with, a huge range and would last 500k with big service intervals

Hi Geoff do Volvo do a nice old 4WD, I'd probably stick with the use of the 1988 hilux, tried and tested. You might even be allowed a test on the very rutted dirt tracks of central Portugal if you ever feel brave enough to deal with the lack of basic facilities. Lovely in the Spring, ok but wet now. I think you'll find these conditions would test even the toughest Volvo, but I'd pay good money to see you try, but not the repair bills.

Volvo 850 is the second greatest car ever made after the Reliant 21E . Mk1 Fiat Panda 4x4 is up there but the Reliant was just awesome with it's 650cc 100mph 80mpg engine . Like having a modern micro car that's socially acceptable 40 year's before they were seen as being needed and were built way better and went faster than the modern alternatives .
