The reason so many people find this movie saddening is because this could actually happen, even to this day. Internalizing hatred is a horrifying thing, and I think you captured this perfectly with this short film. It's so disheartening to know that some people think this could never happen, and I hope they watch this film over and over until they finally understand. Thank you for making this, it's the sadness and the harsh reality I never knew I truly needed.

It's just fucking sad. Josh want his lover back, but whatever happened in Tyler's home, he changed, and he abused Josh. It's not funny to daily attack someone you love, imagine what he has to go through. And Poor Josh don't want to hide or escape. He wanted his lover, even though he know there is love behind his cruel actions. Josh being angry, took a big step and lied about getting raped. And it broke sanity in Tyler, his homophobic, abusive mom came to school and he is desperate for Josh admitting about lie. But this ended all wrong, reality happens. When Josh ran to bathroom cubicle, did he wanted to die? And Tyler connecting their hands proved that Josh is love of his life and can't live without him.

I don’t understand the ending... can someone explain?
@ezrakingsman9924 жыл бұрын
@@bigsquisums okay I don't really know how to explain it without droning on but I'll try to be brief. So basically the guy covered his face with cellotape because he wanted him to stop talking about what happened between them when they were younger, because his mother has brought him up (abusively as seen) and taught that being gay is wrong and disgusting, so he doesn't want his friend to hear. He covers his nose in the end because he is being falsely accused of rape, acting very animalistic because he is terrified and angry. He then remembers back on the memory and is brought back to humanity and realises what he is doing. He tries to save him but the other guy doesn't want to be saved, clearly he isn't in a sane mind especially considering he loves his bully from one thing that happened many years ago, then accuses him of rape just to get alone with him and noticed more. He wants to die, but we see just before he does that he regrets it and tries to take it off himself but can't. The whole thing is incredibly sad but it's even worse since we don't see what happens afterwards, because obviously the guy will be going to prison for rape and murder.

‘Inspired by true events’ is referring to the writer/director’s experience. I searched it up, so nobody was actually killed. He said that when he was 7, he fell in love with his best friend: ‘the inspiration comes directly from my childhood. When I was 7, I fell in love with my best friend. When our families found out, we were shamed and punished and I never saw my friend again.’ He also grew up in Iran where, obviously being a Muslim dominant country, and where Islamic laws are strictly enforced, there are bound to be a bunch of homophobia around. Still sad nonetheless…

Although there was never an incident like that with my mom it still reminds me so much of her. I was raised in a religious household and the level of delusion she prefers to live under to maintain her small worldview is almost comical at this point. She says that she accepts me being gay but then “encourages” me to remain single for the rest of my life. When I ask her what she would do if I fell in love and found a partner, she says nothing. She usually starts into some shpiel about how “everything will make sense in the next life” but she thinks I should stay single. When I confront her and ask her how she can sit there and tell me how I should stay single yet somehow she was entitled to find love in her life, she completely shuts down and refuses to discuss it further. Why? Because the miserable bitch has no ground to stand on. The problem is that me being gay pretty much unravels the thing her entire life has been based on-religion. But instead of trying to expand her belief system to include me somewhere in there, instead of entertaining the possibility that maybe our church might NOT have all the answers, she chooses religion over me because I don’t fit perfectly into the puzzle.

It made me break down when I heard how hard that witch slapped her little son? Some parents go overboard with how far they'll go to prevent their child from being Gay or Lesbian when, I'd rather have a child who's either or instead of a killer, rapist, etc., then I would have to stop bothering with them knowing they've inflicted that type of pain on another human being? That's why I can't just carry around unnecessary hate in my heart towards another person for who they choose to love, especially with how cruel and hateful this world can be? I'm a straight woman who will forever be scarred due to the pain and torment I've suffered at the hands of other straight folks and because it's those type of ppl that's torn this world apart with all their prejudice and hate....and that goes for all races and cultures who will usually hate each other but can easily be united when they find an alliance in hating the LGBTQ Community? It's also nothing but ignorant hypocrisy when some POC start bullying Community members when they already know how it feels to be unnecessarily despised for something so trivial as being hated for the color of their skin? Or when ppl do horrible things towards one another and say GOD wants things done that way....the Bible was written and then added to by a bunch of men who, love using The LORD and Jesus to keep ppl following them? My GOD knows just how he wanted everyone to be, but the main thing he doesn't want is his children hating and hurting each other. These are my beliefs and I'm entitled to them. I don't judge others for what they do and don't believe in because it's not my place to judge, just like they have no right to judge me or anyone else! AMEN.

As a gay man, also named Tyler, who fell in love with a man that was in denial of his sexuality who was also was named Tyler, this was incredibly powerful. Not a dry eye after watching this. Thank you for making this.

The sad part is, people would rather deny their love, their feelings, deny who they are as a person to please society and to avoid judgment. Saddest part is this a lot of different people's reality. When will the day come when we defy what society has taught us and brainwashed us to believe on how we(individuals) are suppose to be but actually live in our truths, so things like this don't have to happen.

Wow. This is absolutely INCREDIBLE... the end left me utterly speechless. I was shaking.... what a horrific, pathetic excuse for a "mother." Such a truly powerful short film.

I used to watch short films in middle school and when I got older realized they were cheesy asf, and never watched them again. Idk what made me click, but this is truly the best short film I've ever seen💔

I'm glad that this film was good for you. There really are a lot of good short films out there, an KZbin has some of them.. I'd check out some of the scifi short films. There are occasional sci-fi short films that will blow your mind, if you are willing to sort through them.
