Sean is taken to a motel and is given a prostitute for his 18th birthday by his father. He must sleep with her to "fix" his questionable homosexuality.
"Pretty Boy" is a coming of age story of a young bullied teen, Sean, struggling with his sexuality and the hardships of high school. After his father finds some questionable magazines in his room, this devout Christian will go to any lengths to get his son to find the light and "perform" the way a man should. Sean is introduced to Katie, a prostitute that understands the stigmas of modern society and helps him see the true light that is within him.
"Pretty Boy" is meant to inspire our youth to follow their hearts, to seek out their true family if "...the family they were born into isn't the family they're meant to be with."

Pretty Boy is SO REAL. This boy is utterly gorgeous. Not just his face. His innocent smile. His gentle demeanour. His beautiful soul. I absolutely adore Sean. And the actor did a good job playing him too. But HATS OFF HATS OFF to Katie. LOVE HER. She stole the mfing show. She's so strong, fierce, independent, supportive, kind and knows her freaking worth. I've spent 37 yrs trying to earn the love that's supposed to "naturally" be there but to no avail... I'm not LGBT but if any of my 3 kids ever said they were they'd just keep getting the unconditional love I've felt before I even knew them! my heart just 💔 for kids not accepted & loved for whoever they are even if their parents or whoever might not agree with certain things smh

I love this story, because it shows that you should not only accept your kids for who they are, but the main thing is that you should never judge a book by its cover. People look at Katie and they think “slut” or “whore” But she was doing it for no other reason to help provide for her son, who she can’t even see anymore. She’s an incredible person who was willing to take time out of her day to give a boy a proper birthday, and to help him out.

Cemal Gedik proud of you for this and for sharing. you've got to get more of the people to be accepting as well. because the world is already so full of pain. Tell them, Why create more pain for reasons that don't matter at all? It's like this: I love blueberry muffins. You love pumpkin muffins. So what? You're not making me eat pumpkin muffins too, so why do i care if you want pumpkin muffins? Please, have ALL the pumpkin muffins you want and I'll have blueberry muffins. I don't need to make you eat my blueberry muffins It's really that simple

4 or 5 years ago I was obsessed with LGBT Short Films. I don't know how I've never stumbled across 'Pretty Boy' but now it sure is one of my favorites. I really like the in-depth characters of Sean and Katie, especially Katie. We don't even get to know what is happening in her life and still, she has a more developed personality than the main characters of some big TV shows. I've never would've imagined that a woman would be my favorite character in a gay film but Katie did it.

I remember watching this when it came out 6 years ago. It's just as amazing today. I'm glad it reappeared in my feed. I'm also glad over 28 million people have watched it. Out of a large portion of the gay shorts I've seen on this platform, this one should be required viewing, especially for minors and parents with LGBTQ kids. The story is so poignant and strong. Katie is a goddess. Ultimately, she saved that kid's life. Who knows how long he could've handled more ridicule and abuse from his peers and father, especially since he'd already tried to take his own life. Remember, kids, life may suck right now, but it gets better when you get out of your toxic environment. Get a job when you're able, save up as much as you can, make plans with your friend(s) to get an apartment together when you turn 18. You'll find your rightful family out there. You're worth it. ❤️🌈
